I got married on UT - FL. 1998. We know how that year turned out. Thinking about asking the wife for a divorce , and then get married again during this year's UT - FL . It's bound to work again

My wife wanted to get married in the fall but I put the kibosh on that real quick. Only a damn fool would get married during football season. Also, you still have to contend with future anniversaries interfering with games.

So much romance is good to see....

There isn't a wife in America that would risk giving an ultimatum of "football or her".

A man will give up his paycheck, dignity, time with his friends. She can paint the entire house pink, make a man go shopping or attend a ballet. She can create the longest "honey do" list ever. She can even force him to go to church.

But, force him to give up football....and he's filing divorce papers in a hurry.

Thankfully all of my friends are married off now, so no more being in the wedding party--so no obligation to go. I had one get married during the bama game...and had to be in it. I will not let him live that down. They are still together.

My sister got married on the 5 OT, 4th and 19 conversion Tennessee win at Alabama in 2003.

I'm still pissed.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to schedule your wedding for a Saturday in September without realizing it may conflict with your team's schedule.

Husband and I got married in October of 2009 and yes it was the bye week. He actually planned everything. We were in Las Vegas and got married in the morning then went back to our hotel and changed clothes then watched college football all afternoon.

Exactly! It doesn't even matter if it is a bye week, football watching is a must!

I've lived in Bama most of my life. Saw plenty of games at Legion field. That was the first game I've been to at Bryant Denny. Brought my two sons, found 50 yard line seats from scalpers.

Made it to half time and my 6 year old, sitting in the sun, started melting down with a fever. Went under the stands and evaluated the situation. Had to leave. Bought tylenol at a Tuscaloosa pharmacy and drove to a buddies in Birmingham.

Got there in time to see the OT coin toss. Epic game.
Can't be pissed at a little kid, but still - wish I could have made the whole game.

That's why I got married in April. Anyone who gets married during football season, especially Vol fans should be tarred and feathered

What were you thinking? Orange and White game!:eek:hmy:

My fiancée's brother is getting married next October on a Saturday, I don't know which day, and I'm a groomsman. Looks like they may need to find a new son-in-law/groomsman.

A wise man once told me...."In the history of the world...P*$$Y is undefeated! And they know it."

I'm actually getting married downtown Knox on the BGSU game...pretty bummed that my ceremony starts at 4, but it was planned way before they announced kickoff times. And with the venue we wanted, downtown on a home game would be a nightmare anyways, so I guess it worked out. Going to be the first season opener I've missed in about a decade...not happy about it. But hey...at least it's not the Florida game.

Labor Day weekend is a mean time for a wedding.
