Two-thirds complete and down to 9 or 10 scholarships to give, the Vols still have significant needs to be met, and a bunch of really good players with seemingly high interest in them. In fact, some are spoken of frequently as being virtual locks for this class. Also, only 3 of our current 20 commits are linemen, which is obviously a big need.

If you're Butch Jones, how do you manage these final few spots? You can't take them all, so who do you take, and who do you tell "thanks but no thanks"?

The players listed below have given at least some indication that the Vols may lead.

Offense:
WR - Dominique Booth
WR - Josh Malone
OL - Dontavius Blair (JUCO)
OL - Ray Raulerson

Defense:
DT - Poona Ford
DT - Charles Mosley
DT - Chris Williams
DE - Derek Barnett
DE - Dewayne Hendrix
DE - Connor Humphreys
LB - Elliott Berry*
LB - T.J. Harrell
LB - Kevin Mouhon
DB - Evan Berry*
DB - Rashaan Gaulden
DB - Chris Lammons
DB - Nigel Patten

*Bonus Question: It's my opinion that this class NEEDS at least one JUCO DT. These 3 have all shown high interest at some point. Which one is most likely to take that spot?

DT - Cory Johnson (JUCO)
DT - Abu Lamin (JUCO)
DT - DaVonte Lambert (JUCO)

What a great problem to have! In the end, the ones that get left out, did it to themselves. They can see the class is filling up. I see you have asterisks by the Berry Bros. IMO, they need to go ahead and pull the proverbial trigger. I want them but if other top recruits are willing to commit and the Berry's are not...

I wouldn't stress...I mean do you know how long it's been since we've had this much to be excited about and you're worring about who left out?? It's almost impossible to fill every single need in one class. I think we should be ecstatic over the job Coach Jones and company are doing. Go Vols!

DB - Rashaan Gaulden
DB - Chris Lammons
DB - Nigel Patten
WR - Josh Malone WR - Dominique Booth(one of the two)
OL - Dontavius Blair (JUCO)
DT - Charles Mosley
DE - Derek Barnett
LB - Elliott Berry
DB - Evan Berry

Guys get replaced by others if they go elsewhere.

If I had to pick the ones left out:

Patten
Blair(think he is headed to AU).
Harrell
Lammons(Think McDowell takes this spot) Yes, I know one is a S and one is a CB. It's a numbers thing.

I think ideally we get 1 of Ford/Williams
I think Barnett/Humphreys play DT in college.
I am not sold on us landing a Juco DT as much as I hoped we would. If bama passes on Mosley, he would be a wildcard option IMO.

Did you miss "if they go elsewhere" part or?

"Guys get replaced by others if they go elsewhere."

you never said whether or not we get them. thread title says "Who Gets Left Out" and you post a short list of guys. either way, we wont take all 3 of the corners you posted.

Oh true. I posted who we got thinking people would take it as everyone else I left out was who got "left out" my apologies though.:hi:

More than likely no. Probably just two, I don't see how you turn one away though. Even Quincy Wilson could be mentioned

No one gets left out.

CBJ found a way to make room

No one gets left out. Everybody gets in.

IMO if we get Gaulden and Lammons, we turn away Bethel

Imo the Berry's might be left out

Only way the twins are left out IMO is if they have told the coaches they are going elsewhere. If they want to be Vols, they will be.

IF the class is sitting at 28 commitments and the twins are still playing the recruiting game, then I could see them being passed over. I think they commit before the season starts.

I think how the DT recruiting unfolds is the hardest to predict right now.

Mosley
Williams
Ford
Humphreys
Jucos
Barnett
Thomas

Could see the domino effect take place with these guys. 1-2 pull the trigger and it could start a rush. With Humphreys saying he is waiting till Aug, it opens the door for others to take the spots. I think as soon as bama decides something with Mosley, he will make a decision.

Just curious, why do you list Evan Berry but not Elliot?

He has Elliot as a LB.

 DAMN I looked at that list at least 5 times and never DID see his name on there LOL! I'm getting senile!

Anyway, they confirmed on TSR today that Evan wants to get a shot on offense, saying that he really wants to carry the football in some capacity. Now that could be as an RB or maybe in some kind of "wild cat" formation. I believe he has 4.3+ speed so he's plenty fast enough. They were saying that it's really 1 Berry on offense (Evan) and 1 Berry on defense (Elliot).

Anyway, after listening to Swain and Treece today, without them coming right out and saying it, they were basically saying that if the Berry's want to be here they'll be here. No way CBJ turns away legacies like that.
