Who else would love to do every two year rivalry with Virginia Tech

I think this could work. We could move the Vandy game up and maybe work something out to play VT and some other ACC schools the week of the other SEC/ACC matchups.

I like the idea of Tennessee - Va Tech once every 5 years. Rotating venue. At Bristol once, then five years later in Blacksburg, then five years later in Knoxville. Then repeat.

Keeps the B@B a true once-a-generation novelty, adds a home & home component, establishes a rivalry, all without weighing too heavily in our scheduling.

Go Vols!

It would be cool to play them every other year home and away and 3rd game at Bristol or every year in Blacksburg or Knoxville and third year in Bristol.

I could go with this, but they would have to be good enough to make it a game every time at Bristol or their fans would stop coming

I think the idea sounds awesome and it's clearly more of a rivalry then Kentucky . Not to mention both teams recruit the other state pretty hard .

I would prefer a quad arrangement, once every four years. In that way a 4 year player has to take the field against the other at some point. It doesn't help us as much as it helps VT so my preference is it doesn't happen more frequently than every 4 years is my view.

Norte Dame vs Tennessee at Bristol would get a lot of hype and be a lot of fun.

Honestly I can think of 10 schools just off the top of my head I would rather do this with than VA Tech.
Obviously you don't live in East Tennessee. UT and VT has been not been great last several years but over last 20 years both teams have been relevant in college football. I would love to see a rivalry between the schools. I would love a home to home series and only playing at Bristol once every 3 to 6 years.

Trap game for Tn. Vt has a history of beating teams they shouldn't and then losing to Duke, William and Mary, etc. Would help strength of schedule for both teams but more so for Vt.

I'd rather reserve that OOC slot for teams like Oklahoma, ND, Oregon, etc. I don't want to get married to a VT and have to play them all of the time. Again, UT won't gain much from it, and has quite a bit to lose. UT does not need to give VT exposure.

Not me. And especially not if we go to a 9-game SEC sked or shuffle divisions so that Auburn replaces Mizzou in the East.

While I had a great time and really enjoyed myself I can honestly say that I wouldn't do it again any time in the next several years. Fun, but doesn't need to be replicated within a 10 year period.

Would rather play a program equal to us like Ohio st, Michigan, FSU. If we are talking programs on or below VA techs level, I'd rather pound Oregon and get the revenge.

Michigan
Michigan St
Florida State
Texas
TCU
USC
UCLA
Stanford
Arizona
Arizona St
BYU
Air Force
Clemson
North Carolina
NC State

if we want a permanent H-H OOC rivalry lets make it Hawaii

I like playing west coast schools. It's so much fun going out there, esp to California. I wouldn't mind a Battle at Bristol every 10-15 years. Anything more often would deminish it too much. 150,000 aren't going to show up every 3-4 years. As much fun as it was, I don't want to do it again for a while! We need to play schools we need revenge on, as in Purdue, Texas, USC, Pitt, Maryland, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, etc!

This Tech fan says at least one series home and away would make his day. To watch our team in your fabled stadium and then bring you in for a visit at ours would offer a little diversity for the fanbases. It's an easy trip up and down I-81, kind of. Really don't want to play you too often as that might make it stale too soon. Another thing, I like your whites better than your oranges. They look sharp.:rtfm:
