1. Chris Petersen
2. Chris Petersen
3. Chris Petersen
4. Chris Petersen
5. Dan Mullen

Look at what Petersen has done with much weaker recruiting classes.

Why is this man not at the top of every school's vacancy in the country? I see nothing which would indicate he is not one of the top 5 best coaches in the nation. If not the best. Yes - even ahead of Saban. He has done far more with far less.

Final caveat: Glad to have Gruden if he signs a 5 year deal so that he doesn't pull a Lame Kiffin and bolt to the NFL after 2 years.

All these names mentioned and not one person has thought to bring up one of my all time favorite coaches....Kyle Chandler....better known as Coach Eric Taylor. Would definitely create some buzz around here.

Matt Campbell may turn out to be the next Saban but as of this moment I don't think he's proven himself more than Patterson, Kelly, or Mullen. That doesn't mean we know nothing about football, that means we're tired of taking chances on coaches and getting burned.

I want Gruden because it is the equivalent of pushing all your chips to the center of the table then standing up and dropping your balls on the table.

Just tired of the UTAD looking like little b$$$hes.

He’s the riskiest candidate of anybody I’ve heard mentioned.

Does anyone seriously think Mullen will be leaving MSU after what he just did against Bammer. They probably already have a 5 year extension in the works and willing to match whatever UT throws on the table.

I have not heard of PJ Fleck either.

I've been hearing people mention Fleck since the beginning of all this (6 weeks ago or so???), and I am of the opinion of, "Please god no!". I saw an ESPN report on him on an early Gameday, and he strikes me as another Butch. He's ALL about the damn slogans..."Row The Boat" is plastered all over campus. He started hot, then faded this season. "Row The Boat" is EVERYWHERE...it's made into the woodgrain in the room he was being interviewed in. All I could think when I watched the interview was "Throw That Brick", LOL.

Don't know if he is still subject to restrictions, but I hope that Jim Tressel will get some consideration. Was a great recruiter and in game coach. Still young enough.

Mullen will never win a national championship at Missy St. He can't even sniff a West crown there. At Tennessee, he would have the resources to win big

Realistically? I'd love to see them make an offer to Jim Tressel. I don't think he gets enough attention given his record.

I'd love Gruden, but everything I've read online seems to indicate he's only interested in coaching NFL.

I'd also be ok with Chip Kelly, and Jeff Fisher is an interesting name I've heard thrown around.

Short of those names, I'm not really excited about anyone else, with the possible exception of Gary Patterson.

The question is who do you want not who do you think we will get. I’m shocked anybody would pick an option besides Gruden or Kelly. Maybe Patterson

I'm inclined to agree, but I'd still add Tressel to that list. Legitimate question - would you be shocked that someone wanted him to coach Tennessee? I'd be inclined to argue he's a bit more proven than Kelly in NCAA (although I would still be perfectly happy with Kelly:

Tressel Head Coaching Record overall: 229-79-2
Kelly Head Coaching Record overall (NCAA): 46-7

If you saw the presser you know Tressel is not coming......and Chip prob isn't coming.

Tressel got a career killing show cause. He'll never coach college football again.
