I'm going with Tee Martin because I don't think Lane is coming back although I wouldn't mind it.

Tee would bring back an excitement to our program and recruits like 5 star Cade mays would jump back on board with no hesitation.

1. Peterson

2. Les Miles...with Tee as OC and coach in waiting. Les gets 4 years

3.Franklin

4.Frost

5. Gundy

6. Leach

If we have 8 mil per year to spend, surely Gundy isn't the top choice.

You asked "Who do you want?" Then you went with another choice based on extraneous factors. "Would you like fries with that?"

I understand the sentiment surrounding Tee. He was a heck of a player. Tee just finished his second season as OC and has no HC experience. Many posters were calling out other coaches due to their limited HC experience. Tee has nine years of total college coaching plus three years of high school. I would love to eventually have Tee back at UT, but I do not that he is ready now.

Seriously guys.

Kiffin is the new Gruden.

I'm starting to believe all the Grudenites turned Kiffinites are anything but Big Orange fans.

I'll agree after the Schiano debacle Kiffin seemed more palatable but only as a last option. If Gundy is in the mix no way should anyone want Kiffin.

Kiffin, but only with a huge UT friendly buyout and great DC. We all know that Lane has a great mind for offense, and with a good OC and great DC, and supporting position coaches Lane could easily become the winningest coach in UT football history. However, Haslam needs to be barred from the AD's office... and we need a former coach as AD (not necessarily Fulmer, but someone who knows coaching and athletic programs); we certainly do not need another "bean-counter" like Hamilton, Hart, or Currie.

For $8 Million per year or more we should have a plane in the air headed to Washington state to put serious pressure on Peterson plus give him all the $$$ he needs to hire a great coaching staff that also knows how to recruit the top recruits!

Other steps that MUST be taken NOW while our fans have the attention of the UT powers that be...

1...Fire Currie NOW and get Blackburn here tomorrow.

2...Fire Davenport NOW and make certain that her replacement knows that UT is a sports and academic university and that BOTH are very important to all of us.

3...Get the Haslams, their cronies and politics OUT of our AD and make it known that we demand top coaches with integrity for ALL our sports programs.

Their seats at the table are GONE.

Make their donations and send a letter with any ideas or suggestions they may have but other tan that their time of power is over.

laMe can coach but he's immature and WILL have us in NCAA hell very fast and then we're really screwed so we MUST have a HC and staff that will follow the rules to rebuild us back to Championship levels the right ways.

Stay united, stay vocal and demand what's best for UT.

WE ARE TENNESSEE!!!

VFL...GBO!!!

The big Tee, he has coaching experience, he has WINNING experience, he has UT experience, We know he is a VOL FOR LIFE from the start! I realize we need a proven head coach, but-if we don't hire Tee, as HC, he would be a perfect assistant coach-and we should pay up to get him, bring him home-in a few years we'll have a promotable to HC on staff! And he already has stuff with his name on it......oh yea, did I mention a NATY?
EDIT, I also think the ability to recruit high quality players would be back to the top ranks. We're going to need a "draw" in the worst way for the next couple of years-Tee could put us there, I'm just saying.....:hi:

Kiffin. This dumpster fire doesn’t phase him. He can coach. He can recruit. He wins And yes he may leave after a year or so but he’d bring us out of this crap we’re in now and much cheaper hire.

I'm not totally opposed to Tee but I'm not going to call him a Vol for Life. He had the opportunity to coach here and keep some of the recruits leaving along with LK but chose to take his skills to LA. I know, I know it was his wife. But the funny thing is he was coaching in Lexington the season before he just had to move to LA.

I can't swear to it but seriously doubt Lexington is a hot bed for up and coming rap stars...

Tee may have known, he needed to gain experience in an assistant position, starting out at UT, may have been the wrong place to start, as it is a place to go to when you're ready. When you are a highly competitive person, and accustomed to winning (as in every game in a season), you don't put your self in a position to fail. He has gained the needed experience at this point. I just don't think he'd come unless he knew he could do the same quality job as assistant coach, as he did as QB.....oh yea, did I mention a NATY?

Witch Doctor say if Gundy is hired, good! Witch Doctor all in and important step in getting back. IF NOT, go get Kiffin, we know he wants it and will be the best choice. Kiffin goes to his Bowl Sat. and shows up Monday press conf. to announce him. BUT if we hire Gundy, all is good.

BNL

PS I do think all the cages that were rattling with Kiffin, etc. made them leak this out. Let us know they are trying to throw money, just no one is taking it (?) we'll see?
