Who do you want if Fulmer

hate to be dense, but I think I missed the joke here. Help me out.

No expert, but to me it the basic no-huddle style offense we're running right now appears to have a lot in common with the one the Colt's are running. Maybe this impression is fueled by the reports about Ainge and Manning training together in the offseason, and Cutcliff's well established ties to the Manning family.

in all Seriousness though with rubin, nick, steve, less in the
league now the sec is at a differant level and our currant
staff is falling behind qiuck.

Rodriguez ain't goin nowhere. I'd like him, but if he didn't take bama, he ain't taking UT. His family is happy there and asked him not to leave...accrording to an interview w/ his folks during a pregame show I saw when I visited WV the opening weekend.

Not a bad choice though.

It makes for an interesting discussion, and for the first time I am actually involving myself in the debate, the humilition of yesterday is too much to ignore.

CPF is a good guy, but football is a game of doctrine changes, the Single Wing was an indefensible program at one time, and it got figured out, as was the wishbone and on down the line. The spread is the new deal, and if you can't defend against it, you're screwed. Look at UM, and us.

That said, our offense is bland, and unchanging. There is no imagination, and people can prep for us fairly easily, Just because it worked 10 years ago doesn't mean it will work now.

Several of the guys listed i think are Pipe Dreams, I do like the Dale Jones idea, whatever he's doing, it's working. There really should be a total wreck-out of the staff, build something new from the ground floor.

Cowher is not coaching TN (or anyone) for at least another year. I heard an interview with him and it's pretty clear he wants to lay low until his youngest daughter graduates from high school. In the meantime, he's doing studio analysis for the NFL. And if he did decide to go back and coach, I think it would be in the NFL.

Don't get me wrong ... I like Cowher's intensity and toughness, but I think we need someone with an entirely new scheme to come in here and light TN football on fire again.

It is obvious to this vol fan that fulmer needs to go his time at tenn has been ok but yesterday showed me his time needs to end.Yesterdays game and the players body language is a reflection of there go.DOES US A FAVOR FULMER RESIGN.................

I don't know who's out there for the taking, but we need a young up and coming coach.

He lives just on the other side of the smokies in north
carolina loves to hunt and fish. has stated he will get
back into coaching just dosnt know if he wants to coach
in the nfl again hint hint.has been to several tennessee
games. has unlimeted contacts in the nfl asst coaches
etc:what high school kid in the country would not want
to learn from him.his football teams are known for there
toughness and physical play.tennesse would have to
get off the hip.he is still in his 50's and has alot of coaching left in him.4 or 5 mil a year should do it.

you left out the fact he has a strong chin. :)

Heres my top 10 list (hand any of the guys a blank check):

1. Pete Carroll
2. Chris Peterson
3. Schavino
4. Spurrier (he's a hometown boy and knows how to coach)
5. Mike Shula
6. Nick Saban
7. Jeff Tedford
8. Jim Tressel
9. Rich Rodriguez
10. Les Miles

Absolutely crazy. Not only did you put down a lot of coaches who would never leave, but you put Les Miles, Jeff Tedford, and Mike Shula down, and you put Peterson in front of Spurrier, Saban, Tressel, Rodriguez, and Shavino?

Who i think you guys should go after, these are not listed in order just guys who i could think of off the top of my head

1. Bronco Mendenhall-BYU
2. Chris Peterson-Boise State
3. Kirk Ferentz-Iowa, give him some better talent and he could win, he does a decent job with the crap talent he gets at Iowa.
4. Tom O'Brian-NC State, he did a decent job at BC. NC State was a lateral move.
5. Mike Bellotti-Oregon. Not sure about him but he does run a spread offense. Teams seem to under perform however.
6. Gary Patterson-TCU- Ties to Texas(for recruiting) and he runs a spread option type of offense
7. Jim Grobe-Wake Forest
8. Jim Leavitt-USF, he has ties to Florida in recruiting, good offense, has done wonders at USF

Ferentz- hell no.
Peterson has had one big moment, and how he has last to Washington. O'Brian just took a job.

Cowher? Seriously? No! Everyone keeps saying that we need somebody new, young, vibrant and imaginative...could anyone be less imaginative that Cowher??? Besides our current staff...probably not. I say keep Fulmer if we have to get Cowher.

I hope you don't think like Hamilton.

How about a "Cowher Disciple", like Tomlin?

I think this is a really bad year to be looking to hire a new head coach. These are all the teams that are considering hiring a new head coach:

1. Michigan
2. Oklahoma St
3. Miss St
4. Mississippi
5. Arkansas (?)
6. Notre Dame
7. Tennessee

And that's just from week 3. A lot of programs are looking to retool. UT needs to act fast, identify who they want and make an offer.

No way Notre Dame is firing Charlie Weis after handing him a 10 year contract.

ND isnt looking for a new coach and the only job that is better than UTs might be Michigan.

1. Bill Cowher
2. Jeff Fisher(Dreaming)
3. Steve Spurrier(Dreaming)
3. Rich Rodriquez
4. Norm Chow
5. Chris Peterson

I hope not Fisher... I'm happy with him in Nashville. As for Chow and Peterson, I feel like I want to see them prove more.
