Who do you think we sign at LB?

I am of the mindset that Maybin will grow into an OLB...so my class would be Maybin, Vereen and Ball...which is very solid IMO...

But I could also see leaving Maybin at safety and brining in a guy like Grace...him along with Vereen and Ball would also be an excellent class

We got bodies, talent is the only concern.
I think/hope good coaching can improve their play. I personally always liked how Sapp played despite our poor D. Kid's got spunk.

E.J. Lavenberry is a guy I can see us very well switching because of the Sal Sunseri hire at FSU. And I know this is gonna sound crazy but CTT is trying to get Reuban Foster to take a visit in January. He was a big deal with his recruitment at Auburn

Sal is coaching the d line. Won't effect Levenberry. He sticks with FSU IMO.

VQ has hinted that Ball may be further down the board. Grace and Cunningham may be ahead of him. Plus I could also see Bowles moving to defense and playing some OLB. JMO.

King will stay at FB and will also play a little TE IMO. He's a great athlete and could really be a great opinion at FB and TE. Sapp will start at WLB for us IMO. He's probably the fastest LB we have and covers pretty well too. Lewis I believe will also stay a LB. I think he will play the SLB spot behind Maggit. I'd also expect Bynum, Fugate, and Harris to play as well. Hill could also be a FB as well, and if he beats out King then I could see King moved to LB. As of Smith, I have zero clue where he will fit in at especially if Green comes here.

I hope both Greg King and Tom Smith can get on the field somewhere for us. I believe they both can be ballers if they can be healthy and get their chance to show out.

We haven't recruited well at this position since Fullmer. I don't get it, we could essentially offer a starting OLB spot from the day a kid walks on campus!!

:ermm: What am I missing?

He isn't big enough.
He has never played the position.
He will be in the 2 deep at WR next year.
He would play S before LB.

Did you mean someone other than Bowles?

Bowles to LB makes no sense....I agree tat we have enough bodies for the 4-3....just not sure if we have enough speed...4-3 LBs need a little more speed than 3-4 LBs...3-4 guys need to be heavier

If like to see the staff pursue Marcus Robinson out of Memphis. He must've fit a 43 better than the 34 considering the previous staff never pursued him, despite impressive measureables.

I guess King could play an H-back role in the new offense...kind of a "jack of all trades"...but I would hate to waste him in that way if he could be of more use at LB

I've said this and been a huge advocate of leaving King to play FB and TE. I understand as a TE he's small, but you line him up and let him run routes and he will be like a Vernon Davis type guy without the size. Kings a lot faster then you think. He ran the wildcat a few times and he had the real ability to make ppl miss IMO. Only way you move him to LB is if you either grab a great JuCo TE or Hill beats him out at FB. I'm not a coach but I do know that King has promise as a FB/TE. He could be a great LB but I just really see him being a real weapon in a spread offense at the slot TE position. He can block and catch and is faster then most LBs that would cover him. If used right he could be a great weapon to us esp with the lack of depth at TE.

I guess I feel for guys who get moved to FB...those guys don't get drafted very often and the position is becoming obsolete...If King had the skills to make it to the NFL at another position I would like that for him...even if he was better for the team at FB...does that make me a wuss? hahaha
