Who do we hold our nose and pull for in Tuscaloosa tomorrow ?

I'll probably hope for Auburn's loss. Then Bama will look too happy and I'll wish they would've lost instead. Man if there was ever a double loss loophole in the rules, this is the game I'd want to find it.

Well, objectively speaking, Oats has won more games and had better postseason success in the 6 years since coming into the SEC than Pearl.

Wins:
Oats- 138, Pearl- 134

SEC Reg. Season Titles:
Oats- 2, Pearl- 1

SECT Titles:
Oats-2, Pearl- 1

NCAAT appearances:
Oats- 4, Pearl- 3

S16s:
Oats- 3, Pearl- 0

E8s-
Oats- 1, Pearl- 0

F4s:
Oats- 1, Pearl- 0
Where do you get your stats? CNN?

I always have a little bit of war eagle buried in the corner of my heart somewhere. Any team that torments Alabama from time to time the way they do and has a little bit of orange will do that. There's always a little bit of camaraderie between the balls and the tigers for that reason.

Payouts on spreads are no different regardless of the number, unless you tease it.
Yeah, I get that but for me with odds that close you are really betting 50/50 for all intents and purposes. I usually don't bet the game. I bet the line. The line has to be what I think is "in error" for me to bet. I will admit I don't bet basketball so this line may be normal.

This one is easy - Auburn.

The same complaints I had about Pearl exists in Nate Oates. Lack of discipline with players who commit serious crimes. After listening to Pearl over the last year, he has impressed me and his players don't seem to get in serious trouble anymore.

You put 0 for Pearl Final Fours. But your general premise is correct.
Yeah, because since Nate Oats came into the SEC, Pearl has 0 F4s. That qualifier is clearly stated in my original post, and discussed in another following it. But I'm sure gramps overlooked it, as well, in his rush to sneak in his clever CNN barb.

Well, I had to read it twice, but without looking it up, I figured Pearl’s FF was just within Oats coaching Bama. It was the season before, so, I wasn’t far off.

But even if you go back to Oats’ first year as a head coach, he still has a better post season record than Pearl.

Right. I figured the most apples to apples comparison would be their respective time since they both arrived on a level playing field, and that really started when Oats stepped into the SEC. I fully understand that it does exclude Pearl's F4 and is convenient (though relative) to the Oats side of the argument, but like you, I thought Pearl's F4 would have just snuck in under that qualifier. I didn't realize it had been that long. Fact is, as you hinted at, Pearl hasn't had much success at all outside of the F4 at Auburn. Since then, he's won 2 total games in 3 NCAAT appearances.
