There needs to be two phone calls made tonight.

First one is to Currie informing him that his services are no longer required.

Second call goes to Blackburn and you ask him to name his price.

Only after that should the coaching search continue.

Yep. Les Miles sticks out like a sore thumb, doesn't he? Compared to the rest of the list.

How can you compare basically anybody available anywhere to Les Miles? I mean in terms of their resume. I can't.

I can call Les Miles an idiot, but that's not really comparing his record to other people's records. I can say he's old, or ugly, or has grass breath, but that doesn't erase the glaring level of success.

Screw it!...Go ahead and bring back Lane Kiffin!...This coaching search has made me sick...Knowing that our AD is an incompetent idiot and I mean that in the highest regard you might as well at this point swing for the fences and bring Kiffin back and see if he can be the savior of Tennessee football...Never in a million years did I think I would ever say that but at this point lets go ahead and do it...forgive and forget and get him back to Tennessee.

Any hire now will be a difficult one to complete. Currie will be on a short leash, under the microscope more than before. If the AD's job appears to be unstable and possibly replaced with another candidate soon, finding any coach willing to come here will not be easy.

Great coach?! How about you do your homework. He might be an ok DC but a mediocre HC at best. Never won a conference championship and lost to the guy we just fired 69-38 in 2010. Went 68-67 (28-48 in conference) as HC at RU and even worse in the NFL. And who gives a sht what Bellichick might say, does he currently earn a paycheck on Bellichik's staff? No, enough said.

Given Frost 6 million plus give 6 million for his assistants. Money may not buy Frost but financial security for him AND his assistants might be a decent selling point and tip the scales in our favor.

If that doed not work go for Norvell or C. Strong.

Sorry, the Miami offer was when he was at Rutgers - sometime prior to 2012. Oregon considered him a candidate last year but never offered.

He's a decent coach, no one considers him great.

Les Miles, then Kevin Sumlin, then Mike Norvell or Frost if you can twist their arms.

Kiffin with a $30M ethics or buy UT out clause. We give him $1M if cause.

I am ok with letting Hoke continue for one year and re-evaluate. No Schiano. No Leach. No trouble or project coaches.

Ok, I am definitely 100% okay with bringing Lane Kiffin back, which I have said multiple times. But if we can't get a "name" at this point and time I would love to see us bring in Mike Houston from JMU. Yeh yeh, I know he is a "google" coach for most people but he is currently 25-1 in 2 seasons there and has turned multiple programs around, including the Citadel. I think this would be a great hire for UT and someone who wouldn't be looking to jump ship for greener pastures a few years into it.
