I'm surprised Moore hit the portal. Heupel would've kept him around and I felt he would've offered him a GA or analyst position for next year.

I assumed they talked and there's a reason he hit the portal. My best guess is he feels he can start somewhere and that's a personal goal. I can't fault him if he's done playing or feels he's gotten all he can from UT.

I'd take Moore but I'd prefer someone with a bit more talent. Moore won't move the needle if Merk and G-Mac aren't ready. On the good side, he wouldn't cause them to glance at the portal.

The same way someone with after our QB who wasn’t in the portal, we do the same.

Honestly I kind of hope we take a more conservative approach in terms of who it is, save a little money, and split those savings between a WR and a CB

Be interesting to see who shows interest. Did he show enough to draw that much money from anyone else? The OL wasn't that impressive, but he can't hang all the problems on that. Other coaches watch film and knows he needs polishing , but not worth what he thinks he is I'm sure.

Because he's a QB that's been in the portal for a while and after spring a few more higher rated ones may enter pushing him further down the pick up list.
Some money is better than no money with a chance of jumping Mck and going in if Merk goes down.

I really doubt UT is going into the season with only 2 QB's when you can get a 3rd for depth real cheap that knows the system.

The rule is no player in the sec can transfer to another sec school during the spring portal. Whoever we get cannot be enrolled in an sec school. When Walter Nolan was in the portal, that wasn’t a rule.

True. I feel certain they will add another qb out of the portal to provide some depth and competitiveness. We don't need our new qbs limited anymore than necessary. I wasn't overly impressed with Nico's wheels and his inability at times to use them. By the time he decided to run, the opportunity has passed. He didn't have the quickness Herndon and Dobbs had and not nearly as instinctive upstairs.
