OL should be solid this year. If they don’t pursue a stud QB and a stud WR isn’t available I think the best course would be to use the money we had allocated for Nico to beat LSU’s offer for Tristen Keys and let Merk show what he can do. Then if he goes under .500 in conference play and doesn’t give the coaches a lot of confidence in competing for a championship next season you push Merk out and get a portal QB that can win 10 games while Faizon Brandon redshirts. This team’s likely finish even with Nico was most likely 9-3, and in todays era going 9-3 and losing to Florida, Bama, and Georgia is no different than going 7-5 and losing to Oklahoma and Syracuse too

We’ve started 2 QBs in 16 of the last 21 years and we’ve started 3 in 7 of those years. We can’t have 2 scholarship QBs.

The problem is him wanting to negotiate every 3 months. He hasn't proved anything on the field to be doing it once, much less multiple times.

Regardless, we need a Cam replacement, need a Najee replacement, but I’m in the camp of drafting a qb, doesn’t have to be at 21, but you know…

I have an idea. Let's rant and then let's rave about NIL, and the transfer portal. Then after that let's rant and rave again about how those things have destroyed college football. But before we're finished, let's make sure and go out to the transfer portal and use as much NIL as possible to get a quarterback who enters the portal from another school, because he's looking for more NIL. That'll show them that We are Tennessee!
