Who do we get to replace Jay Graham?

It is funny to me that when Jay Graham is on our staff how dirty and slimy everyone seems to think Trooper Taylor is. Now that Jay Graham is gone, everyone seems to forget all of that... Yes, he can run up and down the sideline waving a towel and chest bump better than just about any coach in America! But he can also get you in trouble faster than Bruce Pearl at a BBQ...

Also, Trooper left UT due to Fulmer passing over him as an OC... He thinks highly of himself, pays recruits, uses dirty tactics, etc. Why the hell would any one want that? Grow a set, weather the storm, then make a smart decision when the dust has settled. The reason we are in this mess in the first place is due to overreaction and impatience. That landed us Dooley...

Really? what landed you Kiffin?

This place is most definitely bi-polar.. Trooper Taylor? Really? After all the bad mouthing of him and his antics while at Auburn. The second CJG leaves it's "let's hire Trooper... Yeahhh!!!"

Apparently this place has collectively lost its nads to...

At least Jay left after signing day. It could've been pretty bad had he left before. I think we can wait a little bit before hiring the right guy. Improving our Running Back situation is very important, so I'm ok with Butch taking a little bit longer with finding the right guy. The soonest someone can commit is December anyway.

Trooper PERIOD! This guy is a recruiting machine and knows how to bring em to UT. 5 star LB Reuben Foster said " I'm going where Trooper goes"... ended up at Alabubba because Trooper doesn't have a job. Kids love Trooper and we need to bring him home.

Link to where he's ever actually gotten anyone in trouble? Unless I'm forgetting something you won't find a link for anything more than the ncaa sniffing around or a few slaps on the wrist for minor secondary violations. The fact of the matter is the ncaa has been scrutinizing him for awhile now and not been able to hit him on anything. Some of the best recruiters are those that know where the line is and walk right up to it but never cross it too far to get hit by violations which Trooper has successfully done.

Also, to the second paragraph. How are you going to hold somebody wanting to advance their career against them? I guarantee you every coach on our staff has aspirations of being promoted someday (with the exception of Willie Martinez who has been there and done that already). Trooper worked here until it became obvious that he was never going to be viewed as a serious candidate for a promotion hereafter getting passed over by a division II head coach. As a young employee would you stick around a dead end job or would you take the job that is offerring you a raise? Coaching is no differrent.

I don't think Butch is dumb enough to take a guy who is more than likely in the same boat as Bruce, especially when he has someone that was on his staff at Cincy and did a great job while there and is wanting to join this staff at Tennessee. No, Butch is not that dumb!!!

How attractive is this job?
Veteran offensive line by all accounts a very good unit.
Several backs with experience ( Will they play to their potential?).
New system.
New QB.

I'm pretty sure he coached running backs here before coaching the wide receivers.

Trooper coached the running backs when Houston & Riggs both had 1,000 yards the same season.

Then he coached the wide receivers when Pat Washington was asked to leave. He coached Meacham to a 1,000 receiving yards season.

However; he has a black cloud over him about recruiting violations so, I doudt Hart would ever sign off on him coming to U.T. Too risky!!!!!!

I would take eddie gran back but i wouldnt mind having trooper back

Gran is not a minority. You have to that Affirmitive Action thing going on. Fill the quota.

Even NBA teams have a few white guys on their team, at the end of the bench to fill the Affirmitive Action quota....

This is the Hart/Cheek/Jones show now. The big boosters are not breaking out their checkbooks - those 3 have to figure this out on their own.

I would hire Trooper so he can land UT the Berry twins, TK2, and the rest of the legacies. He is very popular with recruits.

I for one think having a coach with NFL player or coaching experience is a plus.
