Who didn't sign the petition?

I did not sign it. Nor will I sign any petition. They are ridiculous. Let the AD do his job.

I did not! CCM has got them to buy in 100% and we are now seeing the results of what he has been teaching them.

did the coaches and team rally around the negativity and Pearl talk or not?

I'm not always right, but I can read and have a little common sense. That puts me in top 5% on this site.

Heck I don't want to sell anyone short, being able to do both probably means more like the 1%.

People need to quit acting like their Sh!t don't stink. Everyone's on here stroking their ego. Everyone knows how many post that thread had. So don't be going on here acting like your some humanitarian and the next coming of Gandhi. People that want to boast about being right are just as annoying as people that can't admit they are wrong.
:naughty: I'm guilty lol. To be fair though, we Cuonzo supporters couldn't convince ANYONE that he was a decent coach, and now that people actually realize he's a decent coach, it's definitely a "I TOLD YOU ALL HE WAS NOT THAT BAD". At least, that's how I feel :p

I did, they were s#&king when I signed it and at the time they had lost to VU, at Missouri, and both A & M games and it looked like we were headed to the top seed in the NIT again. But, I am proud to see this team regroup and the Seniors have been through a lot in this program throughout their time on the hill and I am happy for them. This run is truly fun to watch. Go Vols!

I didn't sign a petition and never will to remove a coach. I know what I see on the field, court or whatever sport we are talking about. It isn't for me or a group of 'fans' to decide. Most of the time when these so called petitions are decided,, it is fans that have NO IDEA what is going on...

I didn't sign it, because Cuonzo is obviously a nice guy and it felt wrong.. I admit, I was worried about the team and wondered if we had the right coach.

I did, I'll fess up.. this team is full of talent and should of been doing this all year, just like he should of been showing this kind of emotion all year, and not just in the tourney.. I'm not sold on him quite yet as an x and o's guy, he gets outcoached a lot, and his recruiting is subpar..but hey, he and the team are on a hell of a run, and I ts nice to finally see it..

I didn't. I was unhappy, though, and I did want Bruce back. I only wanted Bruce back because I thought this team had more potential than any of Bruce's teams and they were spiraling out of the tourney fast.

Oh well, all is well that ends well. If Coach Martin were to look elsewhere, I honestly couldn't blame him. We treated him pretty poorly this year.

I'll man up. I did. But I also admitted that I was wrong (not a lot can do that on this board) but I'll stand by saying that the petition is what started this run and lit the fire under their butt.

This ^ all day long - I signed it also and admit it was wrong.

One other nice thing about being wrong is now your username is cool again :)

Besides me? Although I'll be honest, I thought about it...

I actually thought his recruiting has been pretty decent, since he signed Stokes and Hubbs.

I did not sign it,even if I would have wanted him fired I would not have wasted my time.No AD is going to fire a coach because of an internet petition.:good!:

I didn't but I was indeed a fan of Bruce (or rather some of the things he did), mainly for how he energized campus and made a very alienated student body feel important and managed to excite our fanbase about about basketball in a football town. I will always respect that and would've welcomed him back had Martin been fired but I was not of the mind to fire Martin just to make a run at Pearl.

That said, I would not welcome Pearl back now -- his "I'm baaack" comment showed he's still too full of himself, maybe even more full of himself now that he sees himself as the returning hero. At the same time, CCM went through my list and checked off all the things I wanted to see from him even how I wanted to see him grow as a coach so I couldn't be happier.

However, Martin has proven himself as a coach who is indeed growing and may be on his way to elite status -- each step along the way he gets better. He's also finally showing some emotion and connecting to fans in a way he needed to beyond just winning or coaching a game. It's nice to see Coach Martin show us some of his heart and passion. I'm quite happy to call Martin my university's coach and very excited for our future. It may have been a trial by fire but he knew that going into it and he handled it with grace and plain ole hardwork and has really owned the job in the process. He IS the current face of UT basketball.

As for fans constantly stirring this up - don't. Let this fanbase heal. This team and this coach deserve our UNIFIED support and alienating others doesn't help. Like it or not, it's always been more ick measuring contest than a debate and now that one side has been proven right they want their ick size celebrated in the media and on the boards. However, being right and patting oneself on the back isn't worth the very real division this crap sows even if you feel others deserve it (and I agree some folks DO deserve to have their nose rubbed in it but it's still not the right thing to do).

One other thing: Ignore those who still aren't convinced. As far as I'm concerned, if they're not convinced by now they'll never be.

Heck yea I signed it.. I was sick of the lack luster play of the players, they are a reflection of the coach. Martin must of finally went back and watched some film on how Bruce could light a fire under his teams and Martin figured it out. I am happy the guys are playing good.... winning fixes everything.... losing messes things up. I wish the team the best and GO VOLS.
