Well, we did for the next game at the least so guess we should hope someone else can step up and the coaches do thier job

That's a fact. This is why they get paid the BIG $$$.
Coaches got this!

Get some Red Clay dirt and vinegar. mix it up into mud and pack it on the ankle and wrap it in Newspaper. Sit for about 2-3 hours and let it dry into a cast. Take that bad boy off and Bam!! Good as new. Put'em in coach, he's ready.
I knew there was a easy fix!

I remember in HS I came down on the side of a teammates shoe in B'Ball practice and sprained my ankle pretty bad. I went to Grandma's house, and she sent someone to the hill for some dirt, mixed it up and patted it on. Once I got over the vinegar smell I was good. Took the soreness and swelling right out. I played a game the next night.

If he'd stayed on the sideline, they wouldn't have known how severe it was, or wasn't.
Basic diagnostic tests lay the groundwork for extent of severity. MRI will confirm if there is ligament injury. The trainers have a pretty good idea of what is going on after the test on the sideline. When they decide to take him to the locker room, that usually means there is a potentially significant sprain.

I had a high ankle sprain once during a BBALL game and was back to playing ball in three weeks. Now I did not have trainers or the luxury of rehab staff DKJR currently has.

Did he play in the mop up duty in the 4th, if so Nobody made many tackles then!! :banghead2:

.

Yup Fuente called quick slant after quick slant, because he knew Jumper can't cover ANYBODY. Move JRM to the middle and put McDowell on the outside. Shoop will make the best of it. His in-game adjustments are becoming more and more valuable.

Butch said one week, then week to week. Players have played on high ankle sprains much sooner than 6 wks. We'll wait and see, but Butch has given some hope on this.

I would rather him break his foot than have a high ankle sprain.

Its a high ankle sprain. They at minimum take 4-6 weeks to even heal. He could be out 8 weeks before he sees field and is ready to play.

Not really.

I see basketball players get that injury all the time and they get back in 2-4 weeks.

It depends on the severity of the sprain. There are different levels of severity.

From the replay last night, Kirkland's didn't look very bad. It looked like a moderate turn of the ankle.

I'm sorry but we have got to replace Jumper. I'm sure he's smart and they trust him. But he just doesn't have the athleticism to play. We need someone to fill in, whether it's McDowell, or Sapp. But something needs to be done.

We are better off just playing with 10 men on the field then attempting jumper. In all seriousness Coaches will play Jumper this week. Very doubtful they make a change. Jumper sucks but coaches can't see that for some reason. I wonder if his parents are making donations to the University and that's why he is playing

There's always Paul Bain...............

...

There is a website called 'www.google.com'. Use it to read about stuff. It is very helpful. I know its a hard page to use but it really is helpful.

Let's compare:

You are getting your medical information from Google. Utterly impersonal, as generalized as can be. And of unverifiable veracity.

Butch is getting his medical information from a medical doctor on staff. A medical doctor who examined the very person about whom we speak.

To recap: Medical advice from a medical professional that is specific and personalized ... versus ... a Google search.

Hmm, which to believe, which to believe...

Dude was carted off the sidelines to the locker room! I would suggest it was pretty severe. #commonsense

Dude was carted off the sidelines to an x-ray machine. That would suggest they were rightfully cautious while exploring the nature of the injury. Then, two days later, Butch said he'd be out for a week, and week-to-week after that. Which you are, what, ignoring?

Talk about #commonsense....

Easy answer would be to slide JRM over to MLB and McDowell at OLB. I highly doubt they will do that since they seem to be so high on Jumper. If a Jumper starts against UF we will lose by 2 touchdowns just because he is not athletic enough to hang in the SEC. This Kirkland injury could cost us at least 3 games if the coaches are stubborn and keep running Jumper out there only to get exploited. It's hard to hide a weak link in this league and it's only a matter of time before teams realize who to attack Jumper will be the one teams key on.

No doubt about it. We have to go with a different option. Mcdowell seems like the obvious choice.

I say use the Ohio game as an audition for the spot and hopefully Bryant or Smith or Mcdowell can beat him out. The only other option is slide JRM over

So a bunch of internet heads, you can't play ball, but think they are experts because they have too much testosterone, are all going to pile on a young man bully style, because you think he is not "any good", but who is good enough to earn the position, and he's probably the best thing you have at the moment.....rrrrriiiiiiigggggghhhhhhht. #tennesseefans

It all depends on how much ligament damage DK has as to how long it will take to heal.....Get well quick DK

It doesn't take a genius to see jumper is not fast enough to play the position .

shoop has made some pretty solid adjustments so far so until he proves otherwise i think ill trust him to make the right call and get our D ready to shut down the gators. Personally id absolutely love it if it was bryant or bates but all im going off of is tape from highschool 3 years ago, a lot has changed since then and my untrained eye hasnt seen one iota of them in practice since then compared to shoop. Definitely biased towards bates the most though, was easily one of my top 5 favorite recruiting gets of the Butch era, just wish hed make an impact soon.

Is Bituli not game shape ready or been that much of a dissapointment in camp that he has no chance to fill in for Kirkland? I'm a little surprised considering he was a monster in high school. I know its a tough transition but to not hear his name at all surprises me.
