Who are your #1's?

Tennessee is on the fence, as far as a #1 seed. They have absolutely no room for error and most likely must root for an upset in the Big XII and ACC tournaments (ie., champions other than Texas/KU and UNC/Duke).

Also, I think UNC is probably getting a one no matter what. We definitely don't want Duke to win.

If KU continues to play like they have their past two games, the committee will award them with the final #1 seed.

I don't think they would give a conference regular season and tourney champion a 2 seed if they were number 1 in RPI, SOS, and non conference RPI.

I would say that at this point, it will be KU and Tenn in the same brackett, whichever is the one, the other is a two, unless Tenn can move up to the number 1 overall seed. If this happens then i promise it will help Tenn out in winning it all. If North Carolina or Duke gets the numer 1 overall, they will probably have to travel a total of 100 miles until they get to the final four. They will walk in.

Duke isn't getting number 1 overall.

Never jump Tenn to get it i dont think. I also dont think Tenn can jump Memphis, but it may impress the committee if Tenn can win the sec tourney, besides the fact that Mamphis got beat at home by the vols. Either way it would be nice to see NC have to leave the state to play, dont u agree

i think there could be five potential number 1 seeds: UNC, Tenn, KU, Memphis, UCLA...the conf tournaments will tell us a lot...i think one of those teams will be an early exit from their conf tourney.

North Carolina (#1 Overall if they win the ACC Tourney)
Tennessee (#1 Overall if they win the SEC Tourney AND UNC loses in the ACC Tourney)
Memphis
UCLA (If they win the Pac-10 Tourney OR Kansas loses in Big XII Tourney)

The only reason Tennessee doesn't have a number 1 seed locked up is name recognition. That's it.

Imagine if Corth Carolina had losses to Texas, Maryland, and Clemson, an undefeated home record, #1 RPI and SOS, and a win over #1 Duke. Do you think there's any way they don't get a 1 seed, even with an early exit to like a Virginia Tech or something? No, you don't. It's pure name recognition and history.

UT should be a lock for a number 1, but they don't have any history, so they aren't. Personally, I'd like for us to play an underdog role at #2, or the overall number 1 seed. And depending on our Conference tourney (and UCLA/UNC's), either of those are still possible.

quick question about the seeding...do they set up the brackets according to an overall rank of 1-65. For example, if UNC is the number 1 overall, will the number 2 seed in that bracket technically be the number 8 team overall?

You might want to change UNC (Team F) to having a 16-2 home record. They can't have 3 home losses with only 2 losses overall.

The number one seeds are never decided until after the conference tournaments. If Kansas wins, their a number one. If Tenn wins, their a number one. Same with Duke or North Carolina in the Acc. Memphis is really the only lock i see, because they WILL NOT get beat in their tourney. This happens every year and we all know this.

Actually, the #1 seeds are usually already decided before all of the conference tournaments are finished. The selection committee has specifically stated this as fact in previous years.

What they do is select the teams and possible scenerios as to the outcome of the conference tourney's. The SEC and ACC both play on the Sunday of the selection and sometimes teams that need a win to get in are playing. Also lets say that a team allready in is playing but is currently a lower seed. They could improve their seeding with a win. That is why the seedings do not come out until Sunday night after all the conferecne tourneys are over.

That's incorrect when it comes to the #1 seeds.

My #1 seeds are:

UNC (#1 overall)
Memphis
UCLA
UT

I believe that Kansas could take the #1 seed from either UCLA or UT if either of those two teams don't at least make it to their conference final and Kansas wins out in their conference tournament. I actually doubt that the committee would bump UCLA from the #1 seeds, but in my opinion, UCLA's two gifts from the refs last week leave UCLA looking the weakest among the #1 seeds. I think that UNC is a lock for a #1 seed even if they don't win the ACC tournament. I would normally say the same thing about Memphis, but since any loss that they could have in their conference tournament would be to an absolutely pitiful team, I guess I could see them getting knocked down to a #2 seed if they lost in their conference tournament. Prior to their losses to Wake Forest and Miami, I think that Duke could have grabbed a #1 seed by winning the ACC tournament, but I don't think they can get a #1 seed anymore. Texas has virtually no shot at a #1 seed. They would need almost all of the teams above them to lose early in their conference tournaments, while they win their conference tournament. Texas has some very high quality wins, but they also have 5 losses, and that's just too many. Texas and whichever team from the top 5 doesn't get a #1 seed will be the toughest of the #2 seeds in my opinion.
