It can be rough down there. Keep your cool and avoid the usual drunks at away games, mostly the young ones. Remove any and all UT fan gear from the outside of your vehicle.

Considering my hotel is basically on campus, I find this comment slightly concerning. Three places I've never been for fear of being harassed; Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Thought I would get Florida off the list this year. Maybe I live to regret it.......

Bama is actually a fun trip and the fans have always been fine.

Never heading back to that craphole of a town. To this day, Gainesville is the only place I have seen two fans of the same team get into a fistfight trying to get into the stadium. They also purposefully under stock all the concessions near the visitor sections, so good luck getting a water or beer without having to travel around the entire smelly landfill they call a stadium.

Agree fully with this, but I am actually never heading back. I have been there a couple of times since the late 90s and the last time was it for me. Trashy, belligerent fans that are looking for any excuse to take a swing at anything.

Bama and UGA have been so successful that they priced their thug fans out so you feel comfortable in their stadiums. Florida has not, so you are sitting next to Billy-on-parole who smashed 10 Natty ices in the parking lot right before coming in and is going to "accidentally" dump is dip spit cup on your shoes (this actually happened to me when I was 13 btw). Disgusting fanbase.

Friday I am trying some reverse carma and I am heading to Knoxville. Family Thanksgiving week, but will start with watching the streak end from afar.
