1. Who hires the AD?
2. Why are people saying we can't hire an OC until an AD is in place?
3. For some reason, I assumed you can have an Interim AD. Do we have one in place??
1 - not sure...I would assume a board that has the new chancellor on it1. Who hires the AD?

#2 is about who can finalize million dollar contract terms. AD finalizes salaries.
#3 issue isn't a solve because final contracts take months to finalize. So one AD agrees while one signs. Not ideal.
That said we are talking about a minor amount of money in the scheme of things. Shouldn't be an issue.
In fact I think it's an excuse that's not even valid. The real issue might be attracting a coordinator given future AD and CBj uncertainty
Is it possible that the current administration wants to keep CBJ for some years regardless of outcome? And they need to hire an AD that will promise that? I'm baffled in the reason why it's taking so long. Dave Hart announced resignation over a year ago

Candidates widely mentioned thus far for the athletics directors position on Rocky Top include, but are not limited to, Northwesterns Jim Phillips, Arizonas Greg Byrne, Chattanoogas David Blackburn and Cincinnatis Mike Bohn, as well as Kentuckys Mitch Barnhart and Oregons Rob Mullens.

They all are from non-winning programs. I would prefer a proven winner.

Why ? Hart was from Alabama ( a winning program) and has done not much, also you dont want Blackburn ?
Things I heard a couple of weeks ago suggested everything was lined up and they were just waiting until mid-Feb as a courtesy to the new chancellor so she could officially endorse the hire before it happens. The recent news has really got me wondering if the eggheads outflanked the good ole boys.
