If Gays get beat up for kissing in the wrong restaurant etc.. they had it coming and should have known better and that THEY JUST DON'T DO THAT in certain places

I guess Matthew Shepard should have known better and not put himself in danger

honestly I'm a worst case scenario type of person. I think of the worst possible outcome and direct my actions accordingly. If anything told me that my family could possibly be put in danger by my actions (possible injury to myself is included in that too) I would exit the situation as quickly as possible.

1) that doesn't happen. People get ****ed up in the hood all the time, however.

2) There was for more to the Shepard story than his sexuality.

Being a worst case kind of person is (usually) a good trait, certainly so in an evolutionary sense. I tend to act/think similarly, and I very likely would have either sped off or gone on the offensive; but I certainly would not have gotten out and turned my back on the group that attacked my vehicle.

Regardless of the victim's prudence in getting out of his vehicle, we must remember that he is the victim, and these sorts of attacks occur far too often, and often go unreported by biased media. It's not a dem vs. repub thing for me, it's an issue with a portion of our country's population getting a pass by the media for outlandish behavior.

The fact that the guy had to worry about getting out of his vehicle to inspect the damage is sad. We are all humans, we are all Americans (minus the illegal population), why can't we treat each other with some amount of respect and dignity? If a portion of the population is incapable of this, and cannot be expected to behave any differently from a wild animal, they must be treated as a wild animal.

Different line of logic. Do shootings typically occur in that neighborhood? Are there past cases of people blasting their 12's being shot in that neighborhood? Is that neighborhood known for being militantly quiet?

I know you have the reasoning capabilities of a brain-damaged 2 year-old, but even you should see the difference there.
