So when we were hanging them from trees it was all gravy right mav? I'd say this is what you would call: "karma"

You're right. This Dec 7th we should all go and beat down some Japanese. Karma's a bizzatch, right?

I don't know about you, but I can honestly say that I (and I'm willing to guess, the victims in the car) never hung anyone from a tree. "Karma" can be interpreted in a variety of ways (Wiki article is quite informative), but I'm pretty sure your interpretation is of the word is hilariously incorrect.

Regardless of who played the parts of victim and perp, it is not gravy when anyone is senselessly attacked - especially when based on something as trivial as one's ethnicity. If you honestly believe that they had it coming because of completely unrelated racist attacks decades ago, I strongly urge you to sterilize yourself and go play in traffic.

If, on the other hand, you were trolling, well done, you have inspired rage.

If you're in Brooklyn at night, you don't honk at a group, and you sure as hell don't get out of your car after doing so.

I guess James Byrd Jr should have known there are certain roads in Texas you don't walk down on a Saturday night and sure as hell not at midnight!

staying safe is usually about common sense and using good judgment. Not saying what happened was right at all but it was an avoidable situation

That's exactly what I'm saying. That idiot is just stuck on the fact that you can't legally shoot people in NYC.

Don't know much about Texas but here in Jackson there's some roads you don't walk down on a Saturday night either. You use your common sense if God gave you any. There's danger in every town & city across Amurica regardless where you live.

I didn't blame the victims if you could actually understand what I wrote. I said it was avoidable and to put his family in that position is irresponsible.

what did he do? to put his family in that position?

so its his fault he got beat up?..a horn is on your car for a reason to honk if someone is in your way

so blowing your horn at blacks puts your life and family's life in danger?

Royal, North Hollywood, and Whitehall if I remember correctly.

It's Brooklyn, you moron. Would you do the same in Compton? How about the 9th Ward in NOLA?

I don't care what color they are. I'm not honking at any group of people in a low-income area at any time of night for any reason.

For honking his horn at a group of people crossing the street in front of him when he had a green light? Your comment puts the blame pretty much on the husband for honking which seems crazy...

It's not always easy to know what VM's thinking but I'm guessing the idea is that if it were a black family in the car and some whites on the outside this would be 24/7 news already. It's a hard thing to argue he's wrong there even though it's rather :horse: at this point.

he had just had his car kicked by a group of people. He now knows they are upset with him. He then proceeds to exit the vehicle to inspect the damage (a story I don't personally buy) and expose his family to possible harm. Had he been smart and chosen to avoid any possible confrontation he would have just driven home.

In no way do I excuse the attackers like you're trying to believe but smart people are aware of their surroundings and the possible outcomes. This man wasn't and it cost him. A gun in the car has no bearing on the discussion when a smarter driver would have worked better

Jesus Christ... some of you need to go to BedStuy and take a crash course in common sense.

But PJ, he would have been able to shoot the 10-12 year-olds. That would have resolved the situation for good.

You're asking for common sense to be used, which does the following:

-prevents damage to the vehicle
-prevents damage to the man
-doesn't put his family at risk

Mav wants this out of that scenario:

-damage to vehicle
-damage to the man
-dead 10-12 years olds
