Whitehead

Whitehead might was probably the second best RB on the field today (includes Mizzou).

Basie was the focus of the Tennessee defense. They weren’t going to let him get going which was excellent game plan. He and Evans were the 2 best backs. I don’t care what you saw from anyone during mop up time. Smalls was in that group until he got hurt.

He looked good but we gotta acknowledge the competition too. That’s the worst run D in the SEC. if you don’t look good vs them, then you ain’t a RB. I think he can be ok but he looks like a potential All Conf LB to me.
I thought he looked awkward as compared to every other RB that played today but that is just my take. Another position may be in his future.

Keep whitehead at RB. He must have been practicing well to get the carries instead of Wright. JH is rewarding players that bring it in practice it seems. LW is a physical runner too.

I hope we use him as a RB more. Perhaps when the opponent defense gets gassed from chasing Evans and Small, we bring the battering ram in to finish them off. Especially in the red zone.

Most of the posters here would have averaged 6ypc yesterday.

There’s definitely a drop off after Small and Evans. Can Evans go pro after this season? I’d say that’s starting to become a legitimate concern.

I thought he looked ok. Maybe a bit timid a few times and I suspect those are the plays people are talking about. More experience should fix that.
If you watch the replay, he had a run that he was noticeably limping after. He stayed in the game, but started looking timid at that point. Prior to that the kid looked pretty damn good.

We give Banks a tough time due to some of his plays but the guy is a player. He’s everywhere. He stood Badie up and stopped him cold on a short yardage play. If he gets his head together, he could play on Sundays in a couple years.
Banks is a beast. He also is a ticking yellow flag time bomb waiting to explode once players start smack talking with him.

I thought so too. I might be misreading, but he seemed to slow down and flinch on a few plays before getting hit, similar to the way Milton does, but more subtle.

I think he is taking the coaching.

He let up on that early sack when the whistle blew and avoided a possible roughing the passer.

Helped Badie up and was laughing with him after that play.
