Whistles don’t matter!

My bad. I didn’t hear that. But I don’t know how they can make that judgement seeing the replay and hearing when the whistle blew. If they reviewed it, they didn’t spend much time on it.

It was definitely a very brief review. No question.

Play's dead when forward progress stops, not when the whistle blows. Tennessee got away with a hold on the int in the end zone. Calls go both ways for every team, every season.
that’s completely bull **** and everyone with half a brain knows it.
I’d like to ask why you have replay if it’s not to correct mistakes.
It doesn’t matter if he ruled forward progress stop if there’s no whistle. The athletes play to the whistle. So anything before the whistle is reviewed. Even an incorrect forward progress that only he knew about.

Look for another rule change thanks to Tennessee being screwed again.

I’m accessing you a 10 sec run off for this (the last Tennessee got screwed in the music bowl rule change)

IT WASNT A STANDARD REPLAY REVIEW AS WRITTEN INVTHE THE RULEBOOK ( see article 3 a-e) they simply reiterated the previous perspective which was incorrect. Again Saban wouldn’t stand for that nonsense

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The replay official called for the review, and they confirmed the call. It was clearly wrong, but what wasn't standard about it?

If forward progress is stopped, it’s the refs JOB AND RESPONSIBILITY to blow the whistle to stop the play and to keep from further hits and injury…not just keep it going and later decide when they want forward progress to be considered stopped.

Why a call like that doesn’t raise extreme red flags all across college football officiating I have no idea

And I’m not so sure that SobeVol isn’t correct. They didn’t show the head ref go to the video and talk to the replay booth. That usually takes a lot longer than the time that elapsed. I’m not sure it was an official review. Just the head ref talking to the linesman and confirming what he called. I’d be interested in hearing the SEC confirm that it was a video review by the booth.

ESPN stayed focused on Heupel for some reason. But they were alerted that a review began and put up all the graphics.

Watch the replay in slo mo. Runner's left foot was the only one on the ground when the ball was 1 1/2 ft from the goal like, with a UT player pulling him. You can't drive with one foot. His forward progress had stopped with 1 1/2 ft to go. Refs got it right. Should have gone for 3 the series before, but certainly this series. Sends a bad message to your D.

The only problem with that argument is that you can still move the ball forward with your extended arm, which is exactly what he did and did so before anything but his hands or feet touched the ground. Love to have someone time the play from the time he fell on top of the defender till the ball crossed the goal line.

I hope they lose by one on a horrible call
I actually hope they beat Michigan just so they can get spanked by Georgia’s daddy Saban yet again for some additional humiliation of being so close but never getting there even when they have a team that should

You mean the one with the blue flap they used earlier in the game? On television too?

I didn't see the beginning of the game. Some conferences use a small HD monitor. I've never seen anything that would be big enough to constitute a "tent." But I've been wrong before.

Why do we even issue whistles to the refs then? They might as well stick em up their posteriors and that way they could play a tune when they toot and at least give us a LITTLE entertainment 😂😂😂

That’s what it is, a tent is not accurate but it’s the glare reduction flap when they go to the monitor. The refs didn’t look at it I assure you we could see it

I'll have to take your word on it. They certainly pretended that they were reviewing it.

A player's forward progress stops when he stops moving forward. He was getting pulled into the end zone by one of his teammates, but he still got stopped.
You literally just said he was still progressing forward(being "pulled into the end zone"), but you're arguing his forward progress stopped. Damn, UGA fans are dumb.
