While we are at it....can we fire Kesling as well??

I watched the Rhea County and Cleveland game on the net last night and the announcers on there did a pretty decent job. Maybe we can get them.

Kesling is wretched at football and basketball play-by-play. You can't tell a damn thing that is going on.

When he does go, can we ban the phrase "Into the checkerboards" and make it punishable by up to 5 years in jail??

I honestly think that Bob isn't that bad. I think tht he is unfairly compared to Ward and looks inefficient when stacked up against him. Bob has a different style than Ward and it is hard for us Vol fans who grew up with Ward to get used to him. No one will ever stack up to Ward so let's give the guy a break. I'm not saying that he's an outstanding announcer but I do think he is better than most give him credit for.

If I hear the words "Scissors Play" again from him, I think I will instantly puke.

I think it would be a great time to change announcers too. Blob is horrible at football and only slightly better at basketball. Actually check that, he's horrible at basketball. Last year listening him to constantly screw up the 3 Smiths was horrible. And I'll never forget the time he said "Bradshaw slams it back through!". Seriously, there's only 10 guys on the court at once.

We need to replace him with someone who has a more distinct voice and/or delivery. My replace BK list reads as follows...

1. David Hall from Hall's salvage in Sweetwater and Maryville
2. Billy Mays
3. Floyd the Barber (if he's not dead)
4. Montario Hardesty
5. Sarah Palin

I like Kesling for basketball, he is a good "ying" to Bert's "yang" so to speak. For football, I must agree, he is terrible. He has no distinct character to his voice, no classic lines, and seemingly no passion. I listened to him all the way home last night as I couldn't bear to watch the massacre.

Checkerboards! Bob is constantly trying to coin a catchphrase that will resonate with Vol fans the way "Give him six!" or "Bottom!" did for Ward. Sometimes I wish he would just go ahead and copy because when he tries to be creative it sounds even more ridiculous and contrived.

If he wants to announce for our B-Ball team that's OK by me, but he SUCKS as a football play-by-play announcer. Priest is out of his league as well.

Priest is ridiculously out of his league!!!! Don't forget though, kesling is paid to be a homer.....

actually would love to hear an interview with John Ward about now!!!!

Not that I like Kessling but I would love to see Johnny Majors be the color guy in the booth with him. Can you imagine Kessling crapping his pants listening to a drunken Majors "getting honest" in the second half of the Alabama game?:post-4-1090547912:

Any post that wants to get rid of BK is the post of the year! He needs to go back to the Smokies....he is a half way decent baseball voice.

If Texas Tech can find a kicker by having a half time competition, then maybe UT should hold open tryouts on campus for the new voice of the vols. Get 4 finalist, give them each a quarter of the homecoming game (since it will not be on TV) and lets us vote.

Kessling is ok, but not up to the standards that UT should keep. I will say that Bert B. with him for basketball is good. He is a homer and has no apologies for it. I actually laugh at him while listening to a game.

Not so fast my friends....you know John Ward did not create "Give Himmm Six" overnight, right?

So, we should give old Bob some time to refine his line....."The Center guy snaps the ball, the kicker approaches it and its away...its really spinning and heading towards those post things in the touchdown area. Its good."

Well, it's not like we're going to hear "into the checkboards" too many more times anyway with the way our offense is playing.
