Seriously, I'm curious. Cutcliffe was calling the plays.

My point was that Peyton forced a bad throw instead of taking a sack or throwing it away.

Corey Anderson or whatever the fullback's name was in the 2005 Alabama game where he had the ball knocked out of his hand in the end zone and it went out the back for a touchback.

i would say all 13 defenders vs LSu when they snaped the ball 30 yards away from jefferson that would have won the game but lsu gets another chance and wins on next play....

I would have to say my first heartbreak was the 1996 game when we went to Memphis and lost 21-17 !! That was the first time I cried about the outcome of a football game!! Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth . BTW I was 13.lol

Jack Sr. helped coach a couple of my little league teams back in the 70's. Never knew he lost a son like that. Tragic

Depends... was it personal or on the field? Peyton being a rival of the Titans for years broke my heart in the sense he played for a rival and then in the end spurned the Titans. Or, obviously Lane Kiffin leaving was some crap. The earliest in game heart break though... Ainge and the loss to LSU in the conference championship maybe? Even when Clausen would lose games that I felt bad about, I don't recall ever being too let down. The LSU game and the pick and all that... terrible feeling. On a personal level, Stallworth's DUI leading to someone's death. A bad choice on his part and it sounded like the person was crossing where they shouldn't if I recall and came out of nowhere. Still, I loved Stallworth a lot with the Vols so it was saddening that it all had to happen.

No, it was "players shrinking from the challenge of the game/moment" issues....from the entire team in 1994 to Nylo Sylvan and Jay Graham in 1995, to Peyton and his 4 first half interceptions in 1996 and Peyton again in 1997 with two interceptions, one of which was a game-changing pick 6.

I would also add Daniel Lincoln and that missed FG, plus the two blocked FG's vs. Alabama in 2009. We should of won that game, and Alabama would of never went on to win the National Championship. I mean everything was set up so perfectly. Crompton had just thrown a TD late in the 4th, then Lincoln converted a onside kick.

Lincoln missed a 47 yard FG towards the end of the second quarter. He then had a 43 yard FG blocked at the beginning on the 4th quarter. Lastly was the famous "Mount Cody" block on a 44 yard FG attempt by Lincoln at the end of the game.

It was an institutional problem with the gators.

Spurrier knew for a fact that Fulmer would get tight as a drum vs. Florida.

They knew to pressure Manning. That was the only way to beat him. Florida had the athletes to do that very thing.

The pressure that Fulmer felt went down to every player. So many big mistakes vs. Florida that were not made vs any other opponent. It was mental.

The point of that post was that Manning did NOT lose that game. Now, if you want to talk about that

Heath Shuler was the first. Him leaving, and flopping in NFL still stings. Most recent was AJ Johnson due to his off field issue that led to his dismissal.
