Which Team Drafts Dobbs?

If he wants to see Dobbs play next year, then he better watch the 4th quarters of several preseason games.

I agree, although Pittsburgh is just about a perfect landing spot. Gets to sit behind Ben for a couple years and learn. No clear backup with his upside. And they run a similar system using a lot of shotgun, which shouldn't require a ton of adjustment for JD. Pittsburgh also seems to always surround their QB with talent. He couldn't have landed in a much better spot.

D4H wanted Dobbs to land in Cleveland to fast track him to a starting job, but this situation in Pittsburgh is exactly what he needs. The NFL would chew him up and spit him out if he were forced into starts as a rookie for a team as sorry as Cleveland.

I'm happy that Dobbs landed in Pittsburgh. That is a solid organization that traditionally wins. He can sit behind Big Ben for a couple years and learn the offense and continue to develop. I don't think he could have found himself in a much better position.

At the end of the 3rd, I felt like Pittsburgh might take Dobbs because the fit makes sense, and they passed. Glad to see they took him in the 4th.

I mean those would be the destinations best for Dobbs. GB and NE won't pick him.

Hard for it to be a good destination if those teams have other needs. At this point, I am just glad GB left Mixon alone.

I swear, I thought GB would take D. Cook at 33. He made a ton of sense for them there, but maybe had too much baggage. GB doesn't have a history of taking on character risks.

Cook wasn't a character risk, his baggage was overblown. I really hoped they would take him AND Kamara. Both Lacy and Starks are gone. I felt they needed quality proven backs to back up Montgomery. Ended up making other positions higher priorities, and selected three virtual unknowns at RB late.

I usually can see and get where Thompson is going with draft picks, but not this year. Guess we find out soon enough.

Knowing Tomlin had talked to Dobbs more than once made predicting him to Pittsburgh too easy. And until proven otherwise, Cleveland is where good players go to become insignificant. Whether they are drafted there, traded there, or signed as a FA. And Haslam has only reinforced that so far. Wanted Dobbs to land there? Good Grief.
