Which SEC teams are in danger of losing 3 more games in 2017 than in 2016?

I see 2017 as a back to basics year. In Butch's first two years we were not very altheletic but we had few penalties and took care of the ball. The last two years we reversed that. I also remembered stories of strength and conditioning in those first 2 years. It could be why several players walked.
Last year Butch was facing the death row games, tried to avoid injuries and it backfired. Seems with a vet team this would work.
I have got to believe we go back to S&C blocking and tackling. Shoop has to be asking for this. Our guy could not tackle a cold last year.
This more discipline approach will pay off aginst tech.
If we can only run one pass and the option read, let's do it right.

My bad. I thought they were a 4,3 and 3 stars.

I still like our chances.

Release the Beast!

They are.
I'm assuming he's trying to pass off Jordan as a two-star. One service had graded him low and then later admitted they hadn't even watched his film.
Once they did, they said they were extremely surprised and that they could see him being a "real steal for Tennessee".

He played on a really bad team with an absolutely atrocious offensive line.
So he wasn't covered very well by the services. Once they realized he gained those yards with basically no blocking, they quickly changed their assessment.

Yeah, my bad. Most services had Jordan as a 2 star but he was a composite 3 star. Fact still remain, recruiting 3 rb will have no influence on this season. If it does, we are in trouble.

Yeah, i guess im still confused as to how they can even be counted probable wins. UT was heavily favored going into both games this season, had a better roster and if winning the SECE wasnt enough motivation to be fired up for those games, we hace issues. Hopefully being at home gives us an advantage.

I'm taking the Vols straight up in both those games for the reasons I stated. Tennessee is the better team and in MOST cases (not all) the better team wins.

Not going all "Rudy" on ya but how good the scout team is often has a lot to do with how well the team plays on Saturday. They may put one of the freshmen running backs at QB to simulate the speed of the GT option game. The closer your scout team is athletically to the opposition the better your team will be prepared. The only way to simulate speed and quickness is with young guys who are fast and quick.

Yeah, i understand that aspect. My issue is we are "hoping" true freshman turn out team around. My issue is we have not had a talent deficit the past two seasons, we have a coaching deficit. While we have seen some guys be really good player, overall our talent development has simply not been good. We have proven nothing in terms of overachievement and have a coach hell bent on selling mediocrity. So what we see is people "hoping" players work out. I hope every guy we recruit pans out plays four good years and is successful in whatever they wish, i hope CBJ goes undefeated for the rest of his career. But with him, i take nothing for granted except maybe games against FCS opponents, for the rest, ill believe it when i see it.

I did...amongst other things I do without your guidance...leave the thinking to the professionals, junior. :)

Well, your posts tell a different story, but I would imagine that reading is difficult when one rides around on a such a high horse.

We didn't lose our 1st and 2nd string across our whole defense....not even close, it's a major inaccurate overstatement on your part.

We lost....
1 starting DT (Obrien) who played in the first 6 games and 2 second string DTs (Shy and KMac).

1 starting LB (JRM) who only played in 4 games and 1 starting LB (DKJr)who played in 7 games. We lost Sapp who was evidently 3rd string, given that it was McDowell who went in to replace JRM when he was ejected vs App State.

1 starting CB (Sutton) who played in 7 games

So, not only did we not lose "our first and second string across our whole defense", most of the guys we lost played at least half the season, and half the positions (DE, CB opposite Sutton, Safeties) weren't affected by injury at all.

I do agree that the offense that averaged 36 points per game should've been more than enough. But when your defense gives up 37 TOUCHDOWN drives of 60 yards or more throughout the season, it makes your offense's job just too difficult.

Bottom line....yes, no matter how you look at it, the team underachieved....it's not even up for debate imo.

Yeah, I exaggerate sometimes

I've got them down as a gimmie game too.

Our defense just needs to keep it in front of them and hit their assignment everytime.

Offense needs to play with a sense of urgency, it could turn into a shootout and I'm fine with that.
.

The new DB coach who came from North Carolina should be a huge help in helping scheme that GA Tech offense.
