Both!!!!
I currently live in N VA. We've had Bristol on the books since day ONE- driving the camper down for a 3 day event!!!!
Hubby always said we'd do aTm as soon as they hit our schedule, so here 2016 finds us....gotta go! May be another 12 years til we go there again. Can't miss that.
Save all your vacay until fall!

Tough one, but I would say you got to pick Bristol. Who knows if we will ever play a game like Bristol again. Besides if you go to Bristol you still have time to save some money to afford the A&M trip.

I believe I am going to have to go to both. Just reserved a room for 2 nights in college station, that's not cheap. You can make the Bristol trip fairly cheap if you try. You can stay in Kingsport, JC, or Bristol. There will be some decent places to stay cheaper than right beside the track.

If Bristol is successful we may play there before we play at A&M again.

As said earlier, College Station is in the middle of nowhere but a great football atmosphere. If you have never been to Texas, you should go for it.

I really would like to do both too. I was all set to make plans for Bristol and pull my 5th wheel down, but havent decided yet.
For those going to Bristol, and taking a camper/rv, how much hassle is it to getbin and out? TBH, as bad as ive heard the seats will be, id be fine with finding a tailgate and large crowd to watch it outside the track. Thoughts?

OTOH, i would like to go to aTm as well, would be a fun trip.

Was gonna go to battle at Bristol for my senior trip, but idk, Disney world is pretty hard to pass up.
Went to Disney this past January. Unless you have kids, the only truly fun park is Epcot for the beer and rides. My wife and I had more fun at Universal.

Here's a UT football road trip delimma: 2016 poses two great road trips. The Battle at Bristol is probably a once-in-a-lifetime event which would be a bonaroo-type experience. BUT, I've always wanted to go to Texas A&M for a game, and they'll only play there every 7 years. I've seen UT play at every SEC school (except the two new ones-Mizzou and A&M, hence one reason why I want to go to College Station). Where to go in 2016? What say you?

Depends on what you value, really. Yes. Bristol will be pretty cool, but I fear you will struggle to see the game. I'll be there, but I'm not expecting to see as much as normal. The A&M game, you'll see the game better, you'll be in an atomosphere with a long gameday tradition that is fairly rockin'. It really comes down to what your preferences are.

Side note: you know any surveyors up in Joelton?

Under no circumstances should you spend your senior trip in Bristol. Get out a little and go to Orlando.

Absolutely.

Baghdad Bob was really talking about Bristol when he was telling reporters that there was nothing to see here.

We're going to Bristol but it will be a cheaper trip because of family in the area. Really tempted to go to A&M though since it would be a brand new experience.

If I had to choose though I would do Bristol. I realize watching the actual game will likely suck but it's a unique experience many years in the making.

They have traffic management pretty well figured out. It takes about 3.5 hours to clear out a sold out race so this should be no different. If you stay overnight Sunday traffic ain't bad. I live off of 394 and can't get out of the holler unless I wanna go to the race or JC.

I cant imagine there would be anywhere near the amount of onsite campers for this game as there is a race tho, 1/2 maybe??
I wonder how the camping scene will be? Might be quite the experience before and after the game!

I'd go to College Station if I were you. The tickets for the Bristol game are outrageously overpriced considering all you're really going to do is just watch it on the big screen because most of the seats will be too far from the field to actually see much. You can fly into either Dallas or Houston and spend a few days in one of those cities and then drive down for the UT game on Saturday.

Totally agree, you will not be able to see anything seats are too far away and the hotels all along 81 are basically sold out if you need to spend the night.

True there won't be as many campers but the ones that come are coming for the party from what I hear. It'll probably be like a race where some folks tag along and stay at the campground and tailgate while others in their group go inside to watch the race live.

Already have our RV spot reserved at Bristol for the week and am in the lottery for tickets - may be airplane view but it'll be fun being a part of that experience! We'll also be going to Athens (hubby's a dawg) - a 3 day trip for us. We'll be coming to Knoxville, just not sure which game yet (4 day trip).

We've always talked about going to A&M (5 day RV trip) but Hubby's having a hard time adding it with all the time we'll already be taking off work----hmmmmmm... I have a birthday coming up soon and now I know just want to ask for! 😏🏈🍻

^is there any particular rv spot/area to reserve? Ive never been to Bristol. Id be pulling my 37' 5th wheel down.
I think id be just as happy watching on a big screen from the parking lot! It will be a lot closer to the cooler!!

I hear that - if we don't get tickets that's what we'll do!

Go to the 'Battle At Bristol' website and find the link there for camping/RV parking. There are speedway-owned campgrounds and private campgrounds. We reserved a site with 30 amp hookups a couple of weeks ago at Shadracks - the 50 amp sites were already all booked. You should probably go ahead and get a spot...I think you can cancel up until 90 days prior and get a refund.

Some are just fields they use for camping during raceweeks which are dry camping.

If you plan on camping ,reserve early.
