...of the incoming class is your favorite?

Not putting any other position group or person down because I think outside of QB, we are getting more solid at every position. But everyone's got a favorite, right?

For me it's linebacker. Dillon Bates, Chris Weathered, Gavin Bryant, Kevin Mouhon and HOPEFULLY both Clifton Garrett and Jakob Johnson. I'm really high on Jakob so I'm really hoping we land him.

Don't forget about Dews. But I agree, although I think its a toss up between the linebackers and the secondary. Both of those groups are uber strong.

Obviously, I'm not putting down any of our guys and I really think we are getting some real help at every single position except QB.

For me it's linebacker. Dillon Bates, Chris Weatherd, Gavin Bryant and Kevin Mouhon make for a sick LB corps. Throw in the possibility of also getting Clifton Garrett and the guy I am highest on, Jakob Johnson, and our linebackers could be the best in the country in a couple of years.

Assuming we get Malone...

1.) LB
2.) DB
3.) WR & TE
4.) DL
5.) RB
6.) OL
7.) QB

1 through 6 are close... such a fricking good class. 7 is lacking, but I think we will be OK.

I'm really excited about our Dline commits we have a empressive group of kids coming in at that position. Also I agree about the LBs in this class

I'm with you. Its crazy once you put it in perspective because every single group 1-6 is just nasty. I mean look at RB recruiting the last few years and then look at this year. We got a 5 star stud RB in Hurd, another great one in Paulk and we're probably going to add a third. Any other year that's going to be #1 on the list we're most excited about but because this recruiting class is so deep with talent it's #5 on your list (and I tend to agree with you there). I just feel like that says a lot about how awesome this recruiting class really is.

LB, WR, and DB groups are all impressive for sure but two positions I'm really excited about are RB and TE. I think with only two commits at both positions (maybe 3 at TE with Creamer) they don't get considered as much for best position group coming in.

Although Paulk had the injury, I think he'll be a good one and we haven't had an immediate impact guy like Hurd at RB in quite a while (when was last time RB this highly rated came in? Riggs?). Helm, Wolf, and possibly Creamer at TE are huge assets to this offense going forward. Our TE play this year, while dealing with some injuries and lack of depth, has been pretty much a non factor and it's no secret the TE position in this offense is crucial for success.

Just thinking about the difference these 4-5 players (maybe another RB as well) will have on this offense as they develop, along with the WR's, has me wondering who the heck is gonna be able to stop us lol. Gonna be fun to watch.

Pretty sure there is a thread for just about every topic already. So many in fact that I can't keep up. So I post what I'm thinking and I figure you guys will let me know if it's been posted already. :good!:

I noticed that on the team we currently have a total of 52 juniors and seniors. So, if we get more than 30 players on this recruiting cycle, then we will have less than 20 for the following class.

I was referring to the thread above that you started a few minutes before starting this one. Almost identical but no worries post away. :hi:

It all depends for me. We needed this secondary class a LOT, but my favorite groups have to be DL and LB. all the elite talent from Lambert and our potential JUCO DTs, to Barnett, Hendrix, Thomas, and Mixon (who basically greyshirted and had a year to develop his body) who are bigger DEs and could slide inside (Hendrix stays at DE though IMO) and then add some pass rushers like Henderson and even at LB Dews and Weatherd are good sack producers. Then throw in all the non-JUCO LBs like MooMoo, Bates, Bryant, and a versatile Elliott Berry, wow.

Also WR potentially with Malone. Hell everything but QB

The whole front 7 group. I see Lambert, Barnett, Hendrix, Thomas, and Mixon as interchangable parts that will play end and tackle in this defense, along with a NG (Mosley/Reed/Williams/Lamin) and a pass rush end (Henderson). And god knows we been needing LB talent for too long and it's be hard to beat this group, IMO.
