Do you guys think the new OC hire could be the successor? I mean if things do not turn out too well for CPF in the next couple of years. And if so how closely should MH be looking at this hire or should it all be up to CPF?

I would guess that Hamilton would have very little if any input in the hire.

really? I have been a UT fan my whole life but in that life I have only witnessed a few new hires that I remember, I was 13-14 when CPF took over, and when Cutt left. But I just thought that MH would take a closer look at this one since CPF has been on the Hotseat on the national radar a little bit.

I've posted this before . . . The day a professional administrator tries to micromanage the hiring of an assistant football coach is the day that either the AD or the football coach needs to be fired.

Not true. CBS and ESPN followed this throughout the season... Check their websites and even mentioned in one of the Bowl Games Previews about CPF hotseat situation.. Its out there beyond the Knoxville Radar.

Answer to your Question. At this time, Is that we are hiring an OC not a successor. CPF will never give his job up to somebody on staff and I will be shocked if he does... and I do believe that MH will be involved in that hire.

Just did....don't see anything substantial just minor rumblings. ESPN Quote Herbstreit " I think the only people who think coach Fulmer is in the hot seat are in Knoxville."

I never let him off the hotseat. Right now it is luke warm but ok because he is the right one for the job with the staff turmoil. It drew national attention when the former players had to write a letter to get the fans off his back. It chilled more with the raise and extension and when MH was told to support his coach.

I do not think this hire is for his successor....

You'll see Hamilton fired before Fulmer unless he has a complete melt down. Fulmer is in with the boosters, some Hamilton isnt, which means he's set for life.
