Which players will be revived?

No, that's NOT the end of the story.

The question was who could a different coach get more out of. Clearly Renaldo hasn't given us much, but he's a good athlete. Not because his dad was, but because my eyeballs tell me he's very, very quick for his size.

Nothing is guaranteed, but Renaldo is a guy that Pearl didn't get much out of, that maybe someone else could.

"End of story." Geez. Have some imagination, dude.
Like I said "good attitude + potential + 1.00 will get you a candy bar at seven eleven" If you want to condone someone who takes up a scholarship in order to try and have a rap career that's fine, you have that right. I for one don't.

Thank you.

I can't believe people blast him for having a life outside of basketball. And wasn't there a story just a couple of weeks ago about how Woolridge and the other benchwarmers were taking the starters to school?

If you don't realize the contribution made in practice helps the starters be who they are, I can't help you. And it's a hoot that anyone thinks a kid using his scholarship to get a well-rounded education is a waste.

I noticed Kenny Hall's potential lastyear when he got little playing time. I think he has the most upside. This year we either scored from layups and putbacks on misses or a random 3(very rarely). Williams wouldnt go strong to the rim and wanted to shoot fadeaway's. Harris would, and thats why hes so great. Ive noticed that Hall will go up strong with success. When you dont have people who can score, you need to dump the ball inside to a big and let him do work. If he makes it he makes it, if not theres a very high chance he will get fouled.

I also saw a little bit out of Golden in the blowout to Michigan. It seemed like he just got pissed and started taking it to the rack. I understand that he is a pointguard and that he runs the offense, but by playing major minutes and posing absolute NO scoring threat, he does us little good. Again with him, we need him to drive the ball from the outside, let the defense collapse, and find someone who is open. Bobby Maze was GREAT at that. He doesnt need to score 15 points a game, but he needs to create for others.

We didnt see much from Mcrae but from what ive heard from players and others is that he is VERY VERY explosive in practice. As we all know that doesnt always translate into games. I do however think that he will come around. He's built like JP Prince, and can shoot better(and dribble!). He just doesnt have any confidence in games(mostly from a lack of playing time). I just hope that he sticks around and sees this out. No doubt that he will get more playing time next year, but he needs to mature. From what we all heard this year, that was his major problem.

Regardless of which side of the fence you are on with Bruce Pearl, in any sport there are always players that just don't jive with their coach. Maybe they truly have little talent, but oftentimes the coach doesn't give them a fair shot or the coach's motivation style doesn't suit that particular player. This happened to several players on the football team (i.e. Tauren Poole) with the transition to Dooley--they were revived!

So, the question is this:

Which players do you think the basketball coaching change will benefit the most from a "revive my game" standpoint?

My thoughts:

-I really think that with the right motivation, Woolridge could be something decent--maybe a good 6th man.
-Clearly Bruce couldn't get Cam Tatum out of the gutter, but maybe someone else can.
-If McBee can focus on his 3-point shooting and defense in the off-season, he can be a good contributor.
-Kenny Hall needs someone to motivate him off the court (so I hear).

I am excited about the prospect of this. What do you guys think?

you're excited about this? i would excited if i was a vandy fan or georgia fan. :lolabove:

Im feelin a type of season that movies are made of. The movie starts with the blow out loss to Michigan, then BP getting fired, the commits decommiting, scotty and tobias going pro, and everyone being down and out. But a little known coach comes in and inspires the players at the team meeting. They don't buy in right away, but Cam, being the senior leader calls a meeting and gets them to all come together. THe starting five is:
PG- Golden- Continues to develop and his shot develops and hes a solid PG
SG- Mcbee-He gains confidence and becomes one of the best shooters in the conference
SF- Tatum- His knees give him one last great year, as he is the star who leads the team
PF- Woolridge- He finally finds his game as a slasher who takes slower PF's to the rim
C- Hall- He realizes his potential and becomes one of the better big men in the SEC

THe season starts and the vols hit a rough patch, but they stick together and start to win games. They head into the NCAA tourney as an 8 seed, and win the tournament on a last second shot my Tatum to beat Ohio State, who ironically apparently started this whole Pearl mess, becoming the lowest seed ever to win the tourney. It's a story book ending to the best season in UT history.

No i'm not delusoional.
Yeah i'm preparing myself for a long year.
