Which players hit the road/Pruitt shows them the door?

I hope they toss Shamburger's stuff to the curb after he was dancing his ass off on the sideline last Saturday during that beatdown
He knows he's gone and that's why he did it. Wish that warrior would have punched him out for that ignorance. A bad look for UT in a bad loss.

only one idiot posted warriors name. Try and read the entire thread before assuming. I do hope warrior, A.Taylor, B.Thompson, Flowers, JJ Richardson,Bituli, Ignont, S.Reid,D.Taylor,Emerson,M.Butler,D.Johnson, J.Carvin,J.Johnson, J.JenningsJ.Murphy,T.Jordan, T.Chandler,J.Banks,C.Tillman,B.Kennedy, M.Tatum, and on all bolt from UT in a display of unity. Ain't none of you couch-tater,monday morning QB's, got any damn sense to go around passing out judgement and naming names.

Now what did I say to trigger you and your condescension? Who did I name? Here, I’ll try your method of replying, get your facts straight. Me and my couch are just fine.

Yet can’t seem to get on the field. I don’t get why we can’t find a role for him considering our level of suck on offense
He's on the field quite a bit and is a good blocker downfield. That's why I get down on JG so much because he doesn't have pocket presence. He has to step up in the pocket faster to buy another second while the wall around him is collapsing about every play. That's the hole that is open most and not every play which leads to coach Friend. UT has to get a qualified OC to move forward. It's not Friend.

you did nothing. my frustrations were directed at BOT, the idiot, who did name the names and put warriors in there. We cool? You stated it like warriors name came up several times from different posters or that's how i took it. BOT is the only one who did that.

What pocket? When he has one, he usually completes the pass.

If we have 18 OL players and 13 DL players and 9 of the 20 commits are OL and DL I guess that would be a good place to start to free up scholarships. I don't see us going into the season with 23 OL players and 17 DL players.

I knew when Warrior’s name came up, I was just questioning why anyone would even put his name out there. I don’t really like threads like this one, it brings out the stupid in posters. We cool.

Agreed

This is not a suitable topic for this website and it’s a damn shame and a poor reflection on this website that this hasn’t been taken down

Class is not displayed here by any measure
A lot of us are just venting frustration. We deserved 6 wins and didn't get it. Played well enough to win in Columbia and I fault Helton for that to a degree but it's always a combination of things with this team. Then we lay it on UK and think we've gotten better but no. So it's a lack of consistency and execution and we're not that hard to defend if you're a dfensive opponent. I hope we get a decent OC and good class coming in. Those who are leaving I hope find a place to continue their education. We'll chill soon and CRB will have the house rockin this year.

The two meaningful times he got playing time, he was arguably best receiver we had.

He’s literally been buried on the bench even though he’s got more talent than any receiver outside of Jennings. Every week for last 2.5 seasons is where is Byrd. To top it off, the kid hasn’t raised hell about it on social media or anything.
Like and well stated. He's carried himself well and has good practice habits. Coach Scott lured him away from Miami where Boulware is now starting on their line. 3 attempts to T.Byrd this year...2 from JG one barely catchable and one not. The lone throw from KC resulted in a TD against Bama from about 35 YDS. out when he was hit in stride. He's not going anywhere unless he makes the decision to leave on his own then he'll try out as an UDFA in the league and make at least someone's practice squad if not better. Guy's no quitter and believes in himself. He's simply taking advantage of the opportunity being given him.

Warrior played soft in several games early in the season then started doing some popping but still failed to wrap up many times letting runners escape. He's a bit over-rated IMO but a little better than average. I think a lot of the LB's and DB's were confused early one especially the one's who played last year under Shoop. They had to shake-off developed tendencies.
You're correct...we're displaying our ignorance.

You are right about Warrior’s play in the beginning, I have to admit, I thought he would be one of the players that would be left behind, but something happened around mid season with him, he started playing with passion, not quite the correct way. The light bulb came on for him. I pretty much over looked him before this season, but he seemed to start to get it. Still don’t think he should have been mentioned in the players that gave up column.

13 SENIORS
Tennessee's 2018 Senior Class:
• DB Micah Abernathy - Atlanta, Ga.
• DL Paul Bain - Powder Springs, Ga.
• LB Dillon Bates - Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
• QB Keller Chryst - Charlotte, N.C.
• WR Malik Elion - Memphis, Tenn.
• DB D.J. Henderson - Lyman, S.C.
• DL Alexis Johnson Jr. - Atlanta, Ga.
• DB Todd Kelly Jr. - Knoxville, Tenn.
• OLB Jonathan Kongbo - Surrey, B.C.
• RB Madre London - Little Rock , Ark.
• LS Jesse Medford - Burlington, N.C.
• DE Kyle Phillips - Nashville, Tenn.
• DL Shy Tuttle - Midway, N.C.

Gonna miss Tuttle and Phillips... the rest, not so much

I think Pruitt likes his athletic ability and wants Warrior to play well and be a leader. Pruitt may be putting a lot on Warriors shoulders. I'm not going back to check but feel like BOT may have put Bituli's name in that mess of a post also. He may be the best we had this year so I'll never understand that. BOT usually post quite well and I completely agree with him on many occasions. My problem is the Jekyll/Hyde version of a football team to be able to beat Auburn and scorch UK, play both UGA and USCe quite well, then have the drop-off against Mizzou and Vandy the way we did. Little things may mean a lot and the INT KC threw before the half against Mizzou just derailed any hope UT had in that game. We were hanging with them up until that point. That hopefully can be coached out of them. At least we are considered to be a young team and there's some room for growth but next year isn't gonna be much better than this one IMO. We're just too far behind the big dogs at this point to have much expectations.

Im a big fan of blaming players and not the administration that made their college experience a disaster. Well done.

Weird folks used to say that criticism of play on here would run off recruits. Now we openly embrace public ridicule of their efforts and toughness etc by coaches and poster.

There is def truth to this.....however even though admin and coaching has had its issues that is stll not reason enough to not play hard or play for the men next to you. And for some guys, that rings true and the criticism is well-deserved!

I look at it this way, you can’t undo 5 years of being told and instructed one way and expect to change it all in less than a year. Most of us have had teenagers in our life at one time or another. Most on the forum look at the players as a “product”, they are still young men, young being the operative word. That is where it matters for a coach to get his “players “ here. Unfortunately, the ones still here are in no mans land, it’s not fair. Looks like they took a gamble and lost and they don’t get paid millions to produce. Oh, BOT is still ok.

One thing i see posters here often forget as a factor...even though Patterson just exemplified it both here and in the NFL ...is that some players while very gifted athletes are just too damn dumb to learn the plays.

Period. I played with some in HS...fast as anyone on the team, jump like Jordan...dumb as a bag of hammers. Guarantee you that there are several players right now at UT that simply cannot remember where they are supposed to be on the field, what routes to run, etc...the Vikings finally let CP go...because after 2 full seasons he still couldnt learn enough plays to be used in a game.

These kids are so good that their teachers in HS passed them so they could play ball. Period. There are NFL players that are illiterate. That means "caint reeed" . Julius peppers went all the way through UNC playing 2 sports, he can just barely speak English. No way he can read. Its sad...I am not making fun of the kids...but its also very true.

How many players can you think of that you know can run a 4.4 in the 40 but dont see the field for UT? I can name several. Some of them are just plain dumb. Sorry.

He didn't have enough players to clean house in the spring, things are different now. If he had cleaned house in spring, we might not have been able to have a good practice or scrimmage. GBO

I was trying to get a point across by using an example. For about a week after Spring football and Pruitt's rant about some players not giving there all, there was a barrage of "CJP is getting ready to clean house" threads and comments. After all, we had 15 5* experienced replacements waiting to take their place. Just like today. LOL!

Nobody and I mean nobody was sent packing. He even saved Darrin Kirkland from leaving after he cleaned himself outta the house. Dozens of posters made these bold statements as if they knew how it should be and was going to be done by the new Sheriff. Every single one had some reason of how and why. To a person, they were all 100% wrong.

None that I've seen ever returned to eat crow. I have a sneaking suspicion that many in these "verbatim" threads are the same posters.

My main point is simply that most of us around here don't know squat about the inner workings of leadership in a big time CFB program.

Not to mention, he’s performed each time he was asked. He returned kickoffs better than any of the current return guys did this year as a freshman. I followed TN since he and Fils Aime got there and have wished they had taken any of their other multiple offers many times. These kids have worked hard for Tennessee and been grossly misused in the process. Just look at Carlin’s yards per carry. It was the best on the team. Byrd was popping off 10+ yds at a clip when given the ball around end. I became a Vols fan because of them and have been disappointed in this program as a result. I only hope they stay and get a shot next year because they both have earned it.
