Which players hit the road/Pruitt shows them the door?

I think you'll be surprised.

Keep in mind, that number could include medical issues too. Trey Smith, for example.

This 100%. There will be a huge turnover this off season. I thought I heard the other day that Trey is expected to be able to play next year but unfortunately nothing is certain when it comes to medical issues. I think there will easily be 13-15+ who are gone either by entering the draft or transferring on their own or the decision being made for them. JP really didn't have much attrition before the season but it will be a much different story this off season.

I'll jump into the discussion, but tucked away here on page 8, I doubt anyone will see it. Who knows which ones are leaving, which ones quit, which ones had injuries, or which were confused because they weren't coached up? These are 18 to 20 year old boys (I can say that because I have sons older). They deserve every chance--who knows, they may be more orange than all of us. I hope they all stay and improve greatly.
Absolutely. But those who don’t want to be there or aren’t buying in, should look elsewhere. It will be best for all parties involved.

I haven’t heard anything about Trey but I’ll be surprised if he plays next year.

I hope that Buchanan, Richmond, Byrd, Johnson, and Pope are among some of the ones that are shown the door. Especially Pope. Please get him out of here.

....Richmond was average among our lineman. He is a bit quirky, but he was one of the most fired up ones for Vandy. Admittedly, he was not consistent from game-to-game. If Drew hadn't been a 5-star, we won't notice him so much.

I disagree. We noticed DR for the ease by which defensive linemen ran past, through, over, and around him.

I just think it's pretty easy sitting in your Lazy Boy, feet on your ottoman, swilling your Bud, and burping your disapproval at the efforts of young men. Perhaps it's time for a few of the fans to strap it on and show these boys some real effort and how not to quit. Yeah, remember that time I almost ran a touchdown...

He was a "veteran" on the O-line and had double (maybe triple) the amount of false starts of any of the first year guys we played on the O-line.

I'm well aware of his shortcomings, my point is that he played lights out against Kentucky and looked good at other times during the season, so I for one am not giving up on him yet.

I know you're right, Freak, and I ain't trying to offend the man :), but as I get older, I do tend to want to give these kids a little more leeway.

I’d be surprised that his Dad and sister, doesn’t do and say everything possible to get him to pursue other interests, especially since his mother died. That’s a huge load, There is more than football, sports, what have you. I hope that he beats this, number one, by a country mile.

I get all of those except Byrd and Pope. Byrd has been screwed over by Butch’s staff and this current staff tremendous talent yet has never gotten a fair shot. Pope is just young. Good frame on him.

No, I understand your stance. And I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt to all of them who truly want to be here.

I’m with you. He sounds like a great kid who could be successful at whatever he does.

I don’t know about any one else, he kinda reminds me of Paul Bain. Just has a true love of Vol football and just bleeds orange. It’s infectious. Don’t see that now days, like I saw in my in my youth.

So consider a freebie to be a moron and someone constantly cussing you for making mistakes as a amateur football player the same thing? Weird

You mistook my quote.
I don’t think cussing out a player or embarrassing a player is cool.
But he said he went off in his house alone, he didn’t go get some sign and go to the stadium and call the player out. I just don’t view it the same. I am ok with him losing his mind in his living room, we all have.

My point is this whole teenager just a kid thing. We give young people a pass anymore until their mid twenties to basically be f ups and find themselves. This is something that started post ww2 with the boomers kids. A lot of countries the child is out working in some capacity to help provide income for his family by age 12.

I just don’t view anyone 18 to 24 a kid. A young man or woman, yes. But someone who is old enough to be held responsible for their actions.

I hope they toss Shamburger's stuff to the curb after he was dancing his ass off on the sideline last Saturday during that beatdown

Who were the other three? Supposedly, there were four. Also, who were the ones NOT PAYING ATTENTION to coaches in group meetings on sidelines? Does anyone know???

He hasn't been able to get on the field under 2 different coaching staffs. He's been tried on both sides of the ball. I think he's been given a fair shot. For whatever reason, he's just not getting it.

I think theres a difference between a teenager being "fed" up and getting a pass, and blowing coverage on a football play in an amateur sport. We literally had a poster in this thread say he personally hates drew richmond .....because he wasnt good enough at football.
If I were a college student and I saw adults reacting this way to kids playing a sport, id make the argument that the adults were the ones that were screwed up. But im not suprised, ive coached about every youth sport and parents are by far more of a problem than their kids usually.

Gaaahhhhh go back to Cali or where ever your snideness is from. People discuss football here..... Not hurt feelings. How bad do you feel for the Palestinians? Would you like to talk about more feelings?

My feeling are irrelevant. Just funny that ive been told many times that negative talk here is bad for recruiting etc. Now those same "positive" folks find it acceptable to call current players quitters, express their personal hatred toward them etc. Just an observation.
