Which player will be drafted higher? Bennet or Hooker?

Scouts know what to look for unless they’re with the Browns. Hooker would be higher, I do believe, but worse college QBs will go before him. That’s my crystal ball. I don’t actually have any insight

I don't think Screech will not get drafted too short, and arm strength. IMO he will go as an unsigned free agent. This may be better for him can get with a team that fits his style and measurables. A practice team QB and at best 3rd string. The biggest advantage he had last 2 years he was smart older and like a coach on the field knew the UGA system better than the coaches. The NFL has a lot of guys with 6 years plus experience in the same system. BUT
He'll never have to pay for a drink in Georgia and they'll love him forever unless he runs for the Senate.

There are still people who whisper that Hooker's success was too much a function of Heupel's system. That plus his injury could scare some teams off. I wouldn't be surprised if Bennett goes undrafted. I think he's a Danny Wuerffel type of player who as great as he was as a college player didn't have the arm talent to translate to the NFL.

Given that I have been waiting/hoping for two years for Bennett to fall flat on his face to no avail:

Stupid thread. We should instead be talking about the all-everything first rounder from Kentucky instead. Mr. Mayonnaise himself.

NFL Scouts say that not since a young Ryan Leaf has a prospect had as good a mix of arm strength and confidence in the pocket when throwing a beautiful spiral 50 yards downfield to an awaiting safety.

Come on, man. To say, "I don't think Screech will not get drafted......" means you think he WILL get drafted.

I heard there are currently 18-20 QBs in the NFL younger than Bennett and Hooker. That was surprising to me.
I feel pretty sure Hooker will be drafted first, probably 2nd round. Bennett maybe 5th round. I really don’t care when Bennett gets drafted, I just hope Hooker (along with other Vols) get drafted highly.

Hooker and it isn't even close as to which gets drafted first.
Hooker is a 2nd round maybe worst-case 3rd round pick... Bennet going third round is best case for him. The one wildcard that applies to them both is age. The Weinke Effect.

Some of the younger fans may not remember an old Georgia QB who was maybe smaller than Bennett. Fran Tarkington. He was an NFL QB who ran DL guys till their tongue hung out. Don't know if todays teams would have took him but it has been done before!

Regardless of my opinion on who’s the better prospect, I wouldn’t be surprised if either QB’s draft stock is pretty low. Scouts automatically see their age and put their scouting reports behind a lot of younger guys. “You just can’t teach raw talent” is some pro teams seem to live by across all sports. That’s why there are so many head scratchers on draft night and by the late rounds they might as well be inventing some of these players out of thin air. But what can I say? They get paid a lot more to do this than I do.

History shows us the scouts love Heisman winners and they often are a bust or average at best. Using their goofy metric to rate a QB, I think it hurt HH stock for him not to be invited to the Heisman pony show. And his injury is often enough to make teams pass on a player. Look at how many teams passed on Dobbs

I have my doubts if either get drafted honestly. The better question would be which one has a future in the game and that would obviously be Hooker. He’s a bit of project be he has the tools to play. Bennett will be an example of not being able to make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

Hooker and Bennett both have age working against them. As far as physical skills and raw ability, it's Hooker and it's not close. However, Hooker's injury is going to be an issue. It's hard to justify a high draft pick on a guy that likely will not see the field until he's 26 years old, at the earliest.

That said, I still think Hooker goes ahead of Bennett by a round or two.
