needs to step up the most for UT in 2012?

Tiny Richardson

Cam Clear

D. Sentimore

D. McCullers

M. Lane/R. Neal (starting RB)

J. Smith (new position)

C. Patterson

H. Lathers

Knowing the importance of a NG in the 3-4, I was close to picking McCullers. But I think the most important for 2012 is Tiny. If UT can find a run game to go along with the passing attack, they could easily be a top 5 offense in the nation.

From a potential standpoint, this is a nice list of players that weren't starters last year....

Can't have a running game without a good running back, so whoever takes over at that position will need to step up the most.

Seems like we have plenty of leaders on both sides of the ball but I would like to see Big Jacq or M Lane step up

Mccullers or some other big man has to step up next year inside for the 3-4 to be effective at all.

Really hope Neal gets a chance to start. Neal and Lane, I'm most interested in seeing where we are improving

Tiny. In more ways than one. He needs to protect our star QB, and he needs to set the tone as a run blocker.

Has the be one of the interior d linemen. We have to get back to dominating the front in order to be successful defensively imo.

The RB position. Someone has to step up and make something happen! We avg. at least 125 a game on the ground the rest will take care of its self. GBO!!!

Actually, it's not the non-starters who need to step up their game this year, it's the starters. Here's a list of players who need to elevate their game for us to be successful:

Bray - must cut down on untimely pics and lead more off the field.

Bullard, Jackson, Fulton - better technique and drive in run blocking

Lane - needs to find the 2nd gear in the open field to be a legitimate threat in the run game.

DaRick - improve the 'tude and make it his goal to have NO long ball dropsies.

J Smith - he needs to learn to play with a high, but controlled motor.

Entrire D-Line - needs to understand that they are there to make plays, not just "hold their own".

Maggitt and AJ - recognize that they're not freshmen anymore and leadership is required on and off the field for that unit.

Palardy - its now or never....come on.

Teague - if you're going to be a starter at CB in the SEC, you have to show more discipline, especially on the long ball.

ENTIRE D - no more arm tackling. Great defenses wrap up at the point of contact - see Bama in the NC game in January.

Just my 2 cents folks
