I think we lose to one of Vandy, Mizzou, or Troy. If it's Troy then he will be out the door right after. Then we will start a coaching "search" to keep up appearances but we know how it's going to end :loco:

The most logical choice isnt listed.

DD fired after regular season but coaches bowl game with a search beginning after regular season

Toss up for me...team should and could win out. It could fall apart and lose one.

Either way I think Dooley stays on until Monday after Kentucky game. Then he "resigns". "Coaching search" is officially launched despite already having been going on for weeks or more and possibly already complete.

New coach named a week later if not coaching already. If the are already coaching they will be named as soon as they complete their bowl game.

I have supported Dooley through everything but I see no way we can afford to keep him.

Hopefully the new coach can keep graham, Pittman, and mckeeffery (sp?).

Team loses to Vandy, but wins other three to finish, goes to Liberty Bowl and Coach Dools returns for 2013.

Sad, but the most likely scenario. We will be underdogs on the road against a Vandy team with a better record than ours and with better coaching than ours. Truth hurts! But that is where we are at

They should win out and go 7-5, but I dont see how it saves Dooley's job. He shouldn't be rewarded for going 3-5 in the SEC when this was supposed to be "the year" to get things turned around. I think at this point it's safe to say a move wont take place until after the season, but I dont think these last 4 games have any bearing on what happens either.

Season tickets next year will drop 10-15,000 if that scenario plays out.

resigns? Not likely. Would you resign and give up millions?

How many times can the same question be asked.

Did Phil Fulmer resign? YES
Are we still paying him until next month? YES

The two are not mutually exclusive, its what they allow him to say. No one wants to be fired or terminated so they would rather "resign" when it means the same thing.

My prediction also - dont think Vandy gets a bowl though - 3 games are on the road - only 1 is home and of course its vs UT

I meant to vote for the option that Dooley is fired before bowl and interim is named

I honestly haven't seen a head coach do this before. Mike Shula was fired and an interim coach, Joe Kines, finished out. Mike Sherman was fired by A&M before his bowl game last year. No one else I can think of that has been fired has been to a bowl.

I don't know why a lame duck coach would coach his last bowl game.

Coaches do it all the time. Fulmer was going to do it. Carr at michigan did it amongst many others.

If he's not coming back, and I know that as of Monday. My coaching search starts Tue.

If I haven't already started back channeling before that.

I agree. I should say the official search starts at the end of regular season

I think it's a little absurd to assume we're necessarily going to be bowl-eligible. If we lose to Troy or Missouri and Dooley is immediately fired, we could easily lose a seventh game this season. JMO. And I'm not stating that as a reason to keep him.

Dooley will announce his departure at the end of the regular season; interim will coach the bowl game (if applicable). Sometime during the bowl season we will hear who the next coach "Officially" will be for the 2013 season. Dooley won't be let go before the end of the regular season.

And by the end of Nov. its not a search anymore. At that point you know who you can get and you make a hire within a day or two of when the job comes open.

I certainly hope that's the path it takes. I am not sure it's that clean.

I think that is the path the people making the decisions see and they understand they have to be proactive during the lame duck month ahead.

Am I crazy to think that there's little to no chance we get Gruden?
