Which bowl preference poll

Which bowl would you prefer Tennessee play in?

I prefer the Music City Bowl because the pay out is $2,700,000. The Belk Bowl has a pay out of $1,700,000 & the Liberty Bowl has a pay out of $1,100,000.


Big difference in pay outs. Also, M.C.B. & Belk have more capacity seating than Liberty Bowl.

With Hart being fiscally responsible and trying to build a war chest, I would think that a $1,000,000 difference between M.C.B. & Belk would be better for a financially strapped program. Just saying!

Or a $1,600,000 difference between the M.C.B. & Liberty Bowl. Plus further distance to Memphis as opposed to Nashville.

Liberty Bowl is at the bottom of my list so I am sure that's where we will go.

The payout for any bowl appearances by an SEC school goes to the SEC office and is split up amongst all of the schools IIRC.

I'm an hour from Charlotte so that answers that question. I know kinda selfish with a lower payout but that's how I roll.:rock:

payout makes no difference to us

it all goes into the same pot for the conference

Voted Liberty since it's 20 minutes from the house, and it would be easy to attend with my son. Also wouldn't have to miss duck hunting a single day.

That said, the last time I went to the Liberty Bowl was the (I think) '84 game with Notre Dame vs. Boston College.

Well unfortunately there's no chance but im wishing for outback...lol. Just moved to Tampa for work....no more season tix, so glad for sec network though.

Actually, any given school is allowed to keep 1/2 of the purse to pay for travel expenses, foods, lodiging, etc. Then the other 1/2 is sent to the S.E.C. office and is split 14 equal portions.

So, the S.E.C. has 12 programs eligible for bowl games this season. U.T. will get 1/14th of what each program gets from the game minus their travel expenses.

Vandy can just sit back and not go to a bowl game and get money off of all of us.

Also, the better the bowl for each S.E.C. program means the bigger pay out, which means a bigger share for us.

I dont think the draw is as big for the music city bc while we travel well, the town wouldnt get as much money bc they wouldn't get overnight visitors. we would drive there, watch the game, drive back.

That being said, I don't care, just happy we made it to one this year. Looking forward to next season. This one went by far too quickly.

Thank you for that clarification. The travel expenses might be less for the Music City Bowl due to the proximity. Not by much. Liberty Bowl would have a much higher travel expense.

Belk Bowl please....Bank of America Stadium is newly renovated and would look good covered in orange...and I would only have to drive 20 minutes or so to get there. The stadium sold college seat licenses this year and we bought two of them (mainly for the game in 2018 vs. WVU) so we have tickets. Go Vols!!!
