he is a monster, he should be dominating.. ive been waiting for him to turn it on since he got here 4 years ago. I like him as a player, but he needs to turn it on to another level!

He is a guy that looks great in his uniform but just isnt a good football player. Its not that unusual. It happens. Having size and athleticism is not an automatic route to being a good football player. His play recognition is poor. His ability to get off of a block is very poor. He does not have a nose for the football. It is what it is. Just like some guys are 7 ft tall and have no ability on a basketball court.

12 tackels, 6 solo, 1 TFL.

Tied career-high with six tackles including a TFL vs. #18 Florida (9/15)

Not great numbers but against two spread teams and not even starting last week I would say solid numbers. Last week was Bohannon tryout game. We'll see if he starts this week, that's still to be determined. The reason Dooley likes Bohannon so much was because he said he is consistent, I still think Smith has the better upside.

film doesn't lie. stats do. nice tackles 7 yards down the field. nice tackle after 5 yard gain on 3rd and 3. vandy always has a LB who leads the league in tackles. why? cause other teams run the ball right at him the whole 3rd and 4th qtrs to end games. smith is not getting it done. seems like nice guy but not the beast he was proclaimed to be. he does look good in a unifrom though.

If he is a step slow for outside linebacker....have they thought of moving him to inside linebacker? Just a question I had roaming in my mind.

The reason I ask...Curtis Maggit...perfect OLB for the 3/4...especially for going after QB's. He's got that speed and tenacity that you need. WillBo seems to have this as well. Has that explosiveness. Now...inside linebacker, you don't always have to be as fast...you need to be quick yes, but you need to be able to read where the play is going and have good sideline to sideline movement (like Brian Urlacher currently)...Brian used to be the fastest linebacker in the NFL, but he is getting older, but he still kills on the sideline to sideline....Just curious.
