When you have two terrible quarterbacks that you switch in and out and a third that is unproven wouldnt you think that you'd want to play the third to see how he'd do? I'm not saying BJ's going to single handedly win us the games, that job is squarely on the back of eric berry, but i think he deserves a chance. It'd be pretty tough to be worse than JC and NS. Apparently Cutcliffe hated JC and loved BJ and last time i checked David Cutcliffe knows a thing or two about quarterbacks. That should've been the first sign not to start JC in the first place. Your probably not going to win the last two games anyway so you might as well give everybody their shot.

hohenfelsvol,

I believe he played a series in the MSU game. Redshirted last year.

clean up work. i dont even think he attempted a pass.

Clawson probably snuck him in there when CPF wasn't looking. He was Cut's baby, I'm not sure what Phil thinks about him, if anything.

After today is there any question that JC is phil's boy? And he's going to play him even if it kills us all.

Cooter-Cooter-Cooter

I've thought the handling of kids making mistakes on-field has been bad all year.

I've also thought for the last 10 years that TN has had a really, really crappy record when it comes to giving the depth-chart game-experience in anticipation of 'next season'. That said, Coleman could also be yet another douche-bag who didn't learn from 2nd or 3rd chances, and that's why he didn't get played.

The problem with a team that regularly doesn't develop its depth, also regularly has players acting like dumb-asses, and also has coaches that don't air dirty laundry about kids until forced to is that fans have no way of knowing what's going on.

From what I heard early on in the summer of last year when he first started to practice that he was the type guy rounding up everybody so they would not be late to meetings and practices. He comes from a very intelligent family and I just see him being the type kid who messes around playing grab a**. I don't know where he stands with the team lately because I have not heard too much about him. IMO he has been the forgotten qb and if colquitt keeps getting to suit up every week than this kid obviously is not a screw up. I could be totally wrong because we really don't know what's going on with most of the team. I don't know the kid personally so who knows.

Fulmer though Coleman might actually be able to complete a 3 yard pass and lead the team to victory...Thus the decision was made to play Crompton instead.

I can't recall ever seeing an offense struggle this much in my life. This offense has got to have something to do with the poor qb play. It is just the least imaginitive, worst executed, and easiest to plan against I've ever witnessed.

It's what happens when the worst QB play in the past 30 years meets the worst o-line play since the mid 70s.

After Crompton "led" us to that TD, (Yeah, right the kid hit a wide open GJ and nearly threw a pick on 3rd down and floated it to a TE on the sideline) I knew Phil favored him so much. I told my friend sitting beside me to watch because Crompton won't be coming out anymore after that TD pass.

All he needed was a small reason to keep Crompton in there and he would. Who cares if Crompton fumbles the next drive or can't throw a pass above someone's knees or within arms reach and a potential go a head drive. Phil was going to stick with him.

true so must have some intelligence. his mom is a teacher from my understanding so i don't think he is spoon fed. but you never know with some of those mccallie kids. but all i am saying is he seems pretty well rounded with a good head on his shoulders.

Yes, I meant that more of a joke. But they do seem to cultivate solid young men for the most part. I went to Knoxville Catholic and later to UTC for undergrad, so I know quite a few folks from that school...

Rumors around Chattanooga have BJ transferring to Duke at the end of the semester.

No they haven't. Unless, by rumors you mean just one of your friends made that up and only told you. I haven't heard that. And I guess the article in the paper a few days ago is a complete lie. Why would Aaron Douglas come out and say he was considering transferring, but BJ Coleman completely deny it?

My thoughts exactly as I watched the game, Phil reaching out to his guy. Your telling my BJ couldn't throw at a 40% clip, and score more than 7 points against Wyoming? Hell his senior year McCallie team probably could have scored 17 against Wyoming
