Where would we be if we had beaten LSU in '01?

We would still be here where we are today because most people here think PF just forgot everything he knew about football somewhere between 2001 and 2008. Never mind the missed passes, fumbles, interceptions, missed tackles, blown coverage, missed fgs, etc. along the way.

We would likely gotten destroyed by Miami by a similar margin as Nebraska, and we probably wouldn't be in a different situation today.

we were much better than a team that had the last week of the season lost, nay got blown out - 62-36 to Colorado and had just beaten a 6-6 Kansas St. team by 10 pts the week before in a very unimpressive game

Tennessee, Texas, and even Oklahoma would all have faired better against Miami than Nebraska did

I think we'd still be where we are today because UF and other teams in conference winning NCs upset people here (but a rivals like UF and Bama doing well seemed to do so even more)

Fulmer got lazy and the program went down big in the 2000s. Another title in 01 wouldn't have mattered.

Fulmer didn't forget, he got conservative. He would have the game, the momentum and the win within reach and decide to run the football up the middle 3 times in a row and lean on the defense......Then Chavis would play soft coverage and we would get beat in the big games. Fulmer was a great Tennessee player and coach, but the game had passed him by. Too many young coaches who still drive to fast and run red lights. Fulmer had moved into the slow lane.

If we would have won the LSU game in 2001....Fulmer would still be here.....Would we be a better or worse off as a team??? Just can't say, but the coaching would have still been conservative and Florida and Bama would still be passing us....

I didn't get to go to that game b/c of a high school bball game; I didn't go in 04 or 07 either, so the next time we get to the seccg I'm going. I feel like my absence has had a negative impact on the team
