Where would OSU rank in the SEC?

I think OSU would have finished at least 3rd behind LSU if not 4th behind ARK. Ark had some QB problems so they could have been questionable. LSU would have definitely beaten OSU. I give UT, UGA and Aub a 50-50 chance of beating OSU. There defenses weren;t as strong as UF but if they were to get motivated for the game, anything could happen.

Thoughts?

LSU wins, UT is 60/40 win, Auburn is 50/50, Georgia is 40/60, Arkansas is 40/60, South Carolina is 40/60

not going to take anything away from what FL did last night, but c'mon...OSU during the regular season was a jugernaut.

in the SEC, they would have contended for the SEC title. Ted Ginn Jr alone would have given them a chance in any game they played.

also consider that if in the SEC, they'd get some home games, and that would be a factor.

at max, they are a two loss team in the SEC...MAXIMUM.

look at all the teams that put pressure on Leak in the SEC and had him shaken. OSU couldn't even put pressure on him. I just don't think they played teams that can beat any given team on a Saturday. That is why they were a juggernaut. OSU's D had a lot of points hung on them with Michigan when they played an equal team.

and how many beat them? oh yeah.

Don't confuse FL right now with ever other SEC team. FL is good. real good.

but so is OSU. they are not a mid tier SEC team. you put OSU and FL in opposite divisions, they would have likely played for the SEC title as well.

not if OSU is in the same division with LSU. I don't think they are middle tier, but they will have to scratch and claw and play their butts off to have 2 or 3 losses.

So you're saying Ohio state gets to recruit it's home base, telling kids they can stay near home and still go down and play in all the great Southeastern Conference venues? They would build a juggernaut of top northern talent greater than they do already, and be an imposing force.

Or are we saying just this one particular team....

why not? LSU is good. very good. but they have a propensity to turn the ball over, which is why they are not SEC champs or Western Division champs....OSU did win the Big 10....they don't suck.

one game does not a season make.....as Florida about the Auburn game.

by this rationale, do you think Auburn would win the Big 10? they beat fl, who beat osu who beat everyone in the big 10.

these kinds of comparisons don't hold water, off of one game and trying to determine how they'd do in the rest of the conf.

is the SEC deeper than the big 10, yes. are there more teams capable of beating OSU in the SEC than the big 10, probably. but the only thing we know is that for one game FL is the team that can beat OSU. and FL killed LSU. this could go on and on.

If the '06 Tennessee team played the '06 Buckeyes 100 times, the Vols might win 3.

i think that UF and LSU can beat OSU. Anyone else in the SEC? not in my mind.

Auburn also lost to UGa and Arkansas and almost to Nebraska. If Auburn were better than LSU or Florida, then they would've had a BCS bowl.

They were certainly better than Notre Dame and didn't get a BCS bid, so what's your point?

But if OSU were in the SEC they would have to get up for EVERY game...EVERY weekend because any SEC team can whip you if you don't.

He had over a month to prepare for FL. I'd say the odds of beating them go up the longer they have to prepare. The egg sucker to me was Smith. I like Ron Franklins premise that he won the Heisman too early in the season.

ND has nothing to do with the argument. learn to read what i type before you judge what i say. LSU and UF got BCS bowls over Auburn. They were deemed the two most deserving teams from their conference. Therefore, LSU and UF are better than the teams that didn't get the bid. Noone argued that Auburn belonged there over LSU or UF, except hightide, judging by his post.

I was referring more to Fulmer's preparation for PSU, Clemson, Maryland, etc

while i won't argue that LSU made too many mistakes to win the game....that's also what usually separates winners from losers. so i say to you...the only fact i need is the freakin' scoreboard. Play harder next time.

i see what your saying here, but this should give you and idea of the depth of the SEC....Auburn who finished 3rd in the SEC west, beat the conf and eventual national champion AND the other top 5 SEC team in the country. ARK then beats Auburn. and then LSU beat Ark. FL lost to auburn, but beats both LSU and ARK.

that's just life in the SEC.
