Where were you?

Wife and I were at home in front of our big screen TV. I think eating Zaxby's chicken wings and vegetable dip sides, plus Blue Moon beer. She was exasperated. I was fuming at Tennessee allowing Georgia to score an easy TD. Just fuming. If I recall right, I noted Dobbs' it's not over yet body language. I noted the Dawg lite defense at the LOS, and thought, we got men who can catch the ball, we might have a chance. IIRC, wife leaned forward, I stood up. I saw Alvin help block a defender, half expected him to break off and streak down the field, catch the pass and make a TD with everyone else concentrated in the end zone. When Dobbs reared back, I thought, Oh Heck!! Fully expecting an overthrow right into the back end of the goal line or right into the stands. But then, I noticed the arch of the ball, and found myself thinking again, we got men who can catch, we got men who can catch. I expected either Jason Croom or Josh Smith to get it, and for Jennings to basically knock somebody out of the way so either of those guys had a chance to grab it. When JJ came down with the ball and that Georgia player tried to dislodge it, I thought, Uh-Oh, cause I figured JJ would probably try to cram the thing down the Dawg's throat. Well, wife and I looked at each other, clapped, and went back to chicken winging, then mocked Jones' theatrics. Dat's de tooth and nuthin but de tooth.

I had tickets for this game, but traded them a few weeks before for UT/UF tickets. (It was worth it to watch a Gator dismantling in the second half)
For the UGA game, I was at a beer festival in North GA. They had a projector up showing the game. A lot of folks, including myself, are pretty toasted cause the festival started at 3. There was probably about 50 dawg fans watching and about 10 Vols fans watching. All sorts of barking going on after the UGA TD. I watched in disappointment as UT was going to let this one slip away as they had done so many times in the years before. I stayed and watched though. I was wanting a quick slant to get about 5 yards to attempt a FG and was calling Butch all kinds of names when I saw they were going for it all. THE CATCH HAPPENED. All the Vols fans jumped up and were going crazy. The Dawg fans just sat in their chair watching in disbelief. There were plenty of hugs and chest bumps with random Vols fans I had never met before, That’s what sports can do.
After the game ended, met up with some buddies and our ladies and we partied the night away in Downtown Chattanooga. The club we went to played rocky top and had orange and white confetti falling at one point in the night. One of the best and most fun day and night I’ve had.

We were driving with friends to Disney World - had been in the car eight hours and listened to the game on the radio. We’d just pulled up under the portico at Disney’s Beach Club Resort when Jennings caught the pass. My best friend was driving, and I was in the passenger seat. We just looked at each and started screaming. The valet at the resort was staring at us like we’d lost our minds!

I was at a buffalo wild wings here in AZ. Surrounded by asu fans who were rooting for UGA and me wearing my orange #wgwtfa shirt
Eason threw his td asu fans went nuts
I downed a quick shot of Jack knowing Berry could take one 100 yds...after the hail mary I looked at the young millenials of asu and said that's Vols football right there, and btw 96/97 was your only good year.i said wait u guys weren't even born yet.

I was at home and my wife invited one of her friends whose husband was super irritating and obnoxious. Everytime he came into the room Tennessee would start screwing up. When Georgiai scored at the end he went out to have a cigarette. I locked him outside and Tennessee pulled of the miracle. He was outside banging on the door and I was doing backflips inside,

I have already read a few great stories from posters about where they were when Jauan Jennings made the catch. I am sure that there are other great stories that have not been shared.

I was at a wedding, following on Yahoo Sports on my phone. After I saw that Georgia had gone ahead, I set my phone down on the table at the reception and just put my head in my hands. I still kept refreshing, but I was hoping that the play would be reviewed and called back, or something. I think saw a tweet that said Berry's return has given Tennessee a shot at a Hail Mary. I still did not really believe, but I kept refreshing anyway. Before I could get it refreshed enough, the lady on the other side of my wife gasped out loud. I looked up and she turned her phone around for me to see that her husband had texted her that we had won 34-31 on a Hail Mary. I was floored. I still kept refreshing my phone and holding my breath until I started seeing tweets with the final score. Then, I had to almost physically restrain myself to keep from losing my mind at the reception. I put my hand over my mouth and bit it (true story), to keep from screaming in joy. I was covertly pumping my fist and when there was a lull, I went outside and watched the replay of the play about 45 times. I love my Vols.
At the game on the third deck of Sanford Stadium. UT is 9-1 in games in Athens I’ve been to

I'll never forget that day.

We were at our head youth pastor's house, having a gathering/cookout with the kids from church. Most of them didn't care about the game, they were just glad that somebody had them over. He did a devotion about the Resurrection, called it "The Greatest Comeback of All Time." Then, our comeback starts. One of the parents, who is a die-hard Bama fan and hates all things Tennessee, got there right before UGA scored their last TD, and started mocking us.

Then we scored at the end, and she just stood there in silence, while the rest of us were screaming.

Great day.

I was at a HS Band competition watching the game progress on ESPN Game Cast. When GA scored at the end I closed the app and put my phone back in my pocket. One of my Bama fan buddies who was there was talking to me and we give each other grief most of the time. I assumed that this was another one of those times. He said something like 'How about the Hail Mary at the end?' and I responded with a 'Come on - that looked like a pass and not a Hail Mary to me. What a way to lose that game...' And he said 'No - UT won with a Hail Mary. Did you not see that?' I thought he was lying to me!

I’ll never forget it as long as I live. We were watching the game at my house with some family/friends. I was single at the time so everybody knew we could gather at my house and get rowdy without disturbing someone’s kids, wives etc. When Georgia took the lead I thought I was gonna be contacting a insurance adjuster Monday morning, but when Dobbs threw the Hail Mary it felt like the house moved off the foundation. I remember putting a post or something on my Facebook and a girl I had never met at the time messaged me telling me how awesome of a game it was and how exciting it was. Well fast forward some years we’re now married with a 1 year old daughter. Till this day we say had it not been for that Hail Mary we probably would of never crossed paths.

I was following my superstition of what makes the Vols win. I have to start out at 9:00 with Gameday, keep the TV on til our game starts. Watch until we begin losing.

Then I have to go outside and do something constructive. Can't listen on radio. Just work. Wash the car, yard work, etc.

There always are outside watching parties all over the neighborhood so I hear cheering when anything good happens and I go in and can watch if we're ahead. Go back down and I have to go back to work.

The whole neighborhood erupted in cheers, horns honking, firecrakers. I run inside to find that, once again, I have positively affected the outcome of a Vols game this year. Thank you very much! :)))

You must have the cleanest cars and finest lawn in East Tennessee the last 10 yrs.
