Referring to regular TV reception, not specifically Vols games. If you haven't already, give the Channel Master Extremetenna a try. Now, when I got mine several years back, it was called something else with a simpler name. I got it via Amazon back then. I don't claim to guarantee your antenna issues will magically be resolved, I can share what me and wifey did. Well, mainly me as she is useless in tech stuff. We roof installed it. Married it with an
RCA rotor. Channel Master has their own TV signal
amplifier, we opted for the same specs Motorola. They're exactly the same. Finally, we got a HEAVY gauge insulated ground wire in case of a lightning strike. We got all our stuff except the rotor via Amazon. Depending on which way I point the antenna, I can pick up 33-36 channels, some as far away as 200+ miles. We're content with NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, MeTV, Comet, PBS, CW. ION (never really watch it), GRIT, RADAR, and Charge. There are others, but as I said, we don't really watch most of the channels. Having ROKU, we have access to MANY free channels, movies via Netflix and Prime, and if we choose, Fandago (our RedBox substitute). Games? We pick and choose when and what we watch via other apps.
Issues with the OTA:
1. During local or storms 11 or so miles away, we experience pixelation on ABC, but rarely on other channels. No, I don't know why.
2. The ABC channels sometimes disappears and is replaced by channels like 46.X something or another. No, I don't know why.
3. Regarding #2 above, two things work for us. One, leave it alone, the channel(s) return on their own OR run the channel search, and it comes back.
I suspect something periodically blocks or scramble that channel's signal.
We still get DISH and DirecTV mail and email practically begging us to return as customers. No thanks, we good.
