Where Tennessee ends up (fun hypothetical)

Would you guarantee this team a Sweet 16, or would you gamble on more?

So, the devil is upset at how well Tennessee basketball is playing. He's ready to cut his losses and make a deal, and he's coming to you to do it (I know ... I thought that was crazy too!). Feeling generous and fearing what could be worse, Satan is willing to guarantee that this Tennessee team makes the Sweet 16, and being the 'nice guy' he is, he's even willing to grant a respectable loss trying to reach the Elite 8.

Do you take the devil's offer, or would you take your chances on a better tourney result but open up the possibility of losing in the first or second round (again)?

To me, a Sweet 16 is respectable and would cap the season with a good feeling, albeit the sense they could have done more. An early loss, however, would sour the incredible accomplishments so far. I can see the merit behind either choice.

The devil is waiting. What do you do?

Everything goes out the window when the tournament starts. Matchups mean alot. We could be looking at one and done or our first ever final 4 appearance. Just never know what's gonna happen.

Knowing the NCAA's desire to have games with "passion", I'd bet the ranch that wherever we go, we will see Memphis in our bracket where if both of us get there we'll have to play them at either the Sweet 16 or the Elite 8. They'll love the storyline of making up the cancelled game.

I know you could make that bet in England, their books will take a bet on anything, but what about the online guys?

I feel like this is close to the best team we've had here in the 1 and done/early entry era and the upside beyond the Sweet 16 is there. So I voted take my chances.

Sweet 16 was my expectation coming into the year, but being that no single team is dominant and doesn't strike fear in my heart at the thought of playing them, and the fact that that we are playing our best basketball at the right time, I think I'll roll the dice.

I'll take the gamble. The reason being is that we've taken care of lower competition this year. We have no Quad 2, 3, or 4 losses. I trust this team to take care of business the 1st weekend against teams that simply are not as good. We should win on sheer talent alone.

At the same time I dont trust our team to be efficient enough on offense to get two Quad 1 wins on a neutral court. Teams go on insane shooting streaks in the tourney, and if we have a cold stretch like we do it could be the death of us.

I think sweet 16 is likely where we end up, but why not Take the gamble?

The devil is the type of guy that would guarantee you the Sweet 16 but have his fingers crossed behind his back and we get put out in the 1st round. So I’ll take my chances.

I think we can get to 2nd weekend and make Sweet 16 but beyond that…probably not unless we can convince the powers that be we get special permission to play in Knoxville. We are terrific at home. To me, and I’ve stated it for awhile, Chandler determines how far we go. He is playing for draft status and if he plays in a stretch of games consistently based on talent we all think he has, we can go one round further. He has had a very good freshman year by any standard albeit inconsistent at times. FT misfortunes have been worrisome. But I think he has another gear in him.

His best days are ahead of him but would be nice if he started showing off come tourney time. Over his last 10 games if he shot a decent % from the foul line he probably would be around 17 per game. I think he can carry us for those lapses we have.

Looks like Tennessee has a 1 in 9 chance of winning the NC.
”My favorite under the radar team at the 4 or 5 seed line”... some people just don’t do their homework smh unless this video was made earlier in the season

I hope the Vols win it all, but I am not thinking about anything other than the next game right now, whoever it is.
