Where is Nico likely to land?

Saw this on another site. Is it just BS of social media, or for real?
Niko Reverses Decision

Most comments say it's not true. Geez, sites like this disgust me.
Doesn’t really matter if he reverses decision or not. Heupel will not take him back. Many were sick of his crap anyways it sounds like. He wasn’t fulfilling his NIL deal either.

I don't hate the kid, but from what I've heard, he's got a bad combo of terrible influence and some personal stuff. Throw in millions of dollars at 20 years old, and craziness is almost inevitable. He's talented, but I'm thinking this will end up an awful mistake for him.
Everyone could immediately see that this interpretation of NIL was not going to be good for college football. That chapter has written itself each month on a dozen fronts.

Maybe Nico is the transition paragraph that introduces Chapter 2: "It's not good for developing young men, either"

Because how the rest of the college football world responds is going to set the tone for future players and what we can expect from the top players we all hope Tennessee recruits every year.
It’s a dog eat dog world… The rest of college football could care less if he screwed Tennessee over. It’s all about making your team the best that you can. Don’t be surprised if heupel gets another team’s starting qb from the transfer portal and he’s our starter. At the end of the day it’s all about the money for most of these guys, and Tennessee has more money than most teams.

Was waiting for Church and did some boring math.... CA vs TN payroll taxes...

CA you have to make almost 3.5 million
TN he was making about 2.5 million

It's almost a wash in his salary [difference of a few thousand a month] so this has to come down to something else...don't care what it's about but if he was told it's financial then someone was lying to him.

When you look at the rosters of title contenders for places Nico might land, tOSU stands out. Their best QB looks to be a RS freshman who didn't exactly light it up last year, or an incoming freshman. They didn't get an experienced QB in the winter transfer portal so maybe they went fishing with a lot of $$$ on the line and hooked Nico's dad. Wouldn't be surprised at all if tOSU is behind this thing--pay Nico for 1 yr. while their two inexperienced 5* QB's develop. Nico gets the $$$, OL and receivers he thinks he deserves, he goes pro next spring and tOSU gets an experienced QB for only a 1-yr commitment.
lol. OSU isn’t gonna pay a bunch of money for a mid QB. They can do much better than Nico.

UCLA is likely. Their QB room isn't good, LA is home to Nico, and they have $$$.
I'm not sure UCLA actually has the dollars. It's a public state school and it seems that in Calif, that's a problem. One reason they wanted in the Big Ten was because they needed more money. Not sure of the NIL situation at UCLA.

Ohio State isn’t going to want him. He will be at UCLA and probably making half the money he’s making now

Please let it be UCLA. Going from having no state income tax to whatever insane percentage it is out in the Democratic Peoples' Republic of Californistan is a cherry on top of the sh!t sundae he and his daddy can share.

Their permanent residence in California so they’re already probably paying it.

Good point, although he could've established year-round residency in TN given the time he was in the program...but I doubt he or his keepers/handlers were intelligent enough to think through that.

If Tennessee wasn’t fulfilling their current obligations, why on earth would the Family still be negotiating with Tennessee? I call the TJ clown a liar.

They probably overshot their load with the demands and realize they won't get much help elsewhere. (Basically they are desperate now).

UCLA would be interesting because he always complained about the lack of talent Tennessee had at O-line and WR. UCLA is in far worse spot. Wait until he plays Ohio State again at UCLA lol.

Will Nico become the Colin Kapernick of college football? If every coach in America can read the room, Nico is now toxic. Why risk turning your fan base against you for a mid-level quarterback?

Keep in mind that the schools themself are NOT making these payments. It is basically NIL affiliates and boosters. There are tons of companies in LA that could fork over money. Now whether they will do it for a UCLA QB is to be seen.

UCLA football is far far down the list for company support. Lakers, Dodgers, Clippers, Rams, USC, etc all are far ahead of UCLA. Their financial problems are very real.
