Who do you suggest?Gundy, Kelly, Sumlin... the cat from Missouri, the Texas Tech guy... switch them around and throw them in a bowl... it doesn't matter... same type of football. If you want a few wins in the East, they can probably give you a few of those by year 2 you will start to realize... hey, this doesn't work against the good defenses. Then by year 4... you'll be blaming the defensive coordinator... than by year 5, you'll actually start watching the game and you'll think... maybe this offense isn't so great... by year 6.... you'll be calling for the head coaches job because you just realized you been sold fools gold.
Couldn't pull Dormady :cray:
Not counting Ole Miss, which actually Freeze was a good coach... I would put him last in the West. He beats the East teams and Arkansas.
If you want to go 4 and 4 in the SEC, the hire sumlin.
to get a gauge on how sumlin may do at UT, look at his record vs the east and bama.
overall, while at a&m, he was 9-3 against the east (played uf, ut, mz, sc, vandy) and 1-5 vs bama.
that's 10-8 and 56%.
bout the same as mullin was vs the east and bama.
not sure he'd be worth what we'd have to pay him.
not sure how i feel about this truthfully.
EDIT: 3-3 vs Mullen
He was 1-11 versus Alabama and LSU, heck even against Mississippi State he was only 3-3. He basically got wins against the SEC West team that was down and out on any particular year and he beat up on East teams. LSU fires their coach, its still a scrimmage game. Its not really even football.
