Basilio said that's who we're going to next fwiw. No clue why Currie wouldn't have done so before the Doeren fiasco smh.

He owed Doeren a favor?
He's going in alphabetical order?
He dropped his rolodex and cards are all over the place?
He's going geographically from East to West?

Just read that Sumlin is the next target. I'm not really to excited about it, but what other options do u have. Also, just read that Peyton was on board with the hire of Schiano and he was vetted everything came back clean on this guy. Peyton spoke to Bill Belichick and he agreed with the hire and also Shciano had a great staff already in place for this team. This team is going to pay a big price for the actions of a lot of the fans. I understand a lot of u are passionate about this program and I understand, but sometimes u have to let the AD do his job that's why he is getting paid.

Probably the best we can do and better than Doeren.

Granted we all would like a proven 10+ win a season HC with Power 5 experience.
But that isn't happening. Outside of year 1 at A&M Sumlin is averaging about 8 wins a season at A&M. Doeren's best year at State was 8-4 in the ACC. His ceiling at UT would likely only been 8 wins.

Taking this year out of the equation we could be having an even swap from Butch to Sumlin, minus the slogans. But at this point it's probably the best we can do and hope his ceiling at UT is higher.

The East div is much easier than the West. Sumlin competed in games from the West and Tn got skull dragged from the East. Not sure your comparison is correct. I'm sure Sumlin's ceiling will be pretty high in the East.

Could he get Tee? I like Sumlin, seems like a good guy and solid coach. Familiar with the SEC. His success would hinge on his assistants.
