Where is Derrick Walker?

He has not taken advantage of his opportunities. It's that simple. For whatever reason he and Jalen Johnson and to a smaller scale Fulkerson have not developed like they should.

According to who.... how many pressers by Coach do you listen to? He has been complimentary of their impact when on the floor. They are probably doing exactly what he tells them to do and are not drop in replacements for the guys they come in for.... Fulky almost always extends offensive possessions by getting or creating rebounds for others and is getting to his spots up high to get the passes and move them to the shooters.... He is almost always the first guy in, sometimes with Pons in the new lineup.... I think he has been instructed to take some more shots and drives from the high post area so he is not ignored and Grant and Admiral always being doubled... Walker hurts his chances in late game situations with his free throw issues... Jalen may be a bit too passive... don't really have a read on him... Coach for whatever reason has reverted to a shorter bench and does not like pulling starters even with big leads late... so be it.

He is a walking turnover right now simply because he can't shoot free throws. That can be fixed.
If you're nearly 2 years into your college career and you shoot freebies the way he does, I'm not so sure it can be fixed. Why hasn't it been fixed? Hopefully, it can be improved, but I'm beginning to lose faith in Walker.

cant hit a free throw, not great on defense. He's young. He'll be a 4 year guy that contributes going forward.

And LF, why do you have to assume a kid is using drugs because he's not performing well? Big reach and a shoddy attempt at discrediting a good kid.
I agree with your last statement.

Ask Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman why they’re FT shooting never improved

Has a few valuable skills. But looks.like he just doesn't study for quizzes or does much homework. He's a Jr now and has added no skills to his game, and seems even less coordinated than the past 2 years. I thought he would grow into a solid post player by now, but we have a defensive dropoff and massive offensive loss when he comes in. Plays with decent energy tho.

Looks like the typical results of hippie lettuce, but IDK. We could really use him down the stretch.
No, you don't know, so you shouldn't insinuate anything. That's reckless.

A lot of folks feel we got knocked out of the tourney last year because Alexander fouled out and there was a significant drop-off with his replacement.

Alexander did not foul out, he was hurt and did not play at all gainst Loyola-Chicago.

Fulkerson had a horrendous injury to his arm as a freshman that cost him that entire season. His situation is not the same as Johnson and Walker.
Agree, injuries have been a big factor. Yet he is still more productive than the other two. That's why I said to a lesser extend.

Aha, you are right. I forgot about that and stand corrected. Thanks. His absence was conspicuous in any event, it seems.
Yes, your point is valid. Only thing I disagree with, that Barnes has done this year, more playing time for Walker, at least in blowouts. JJ, too

Maybe Barnes calls me after every game or maybe I can just tell by the minutes they play. Coaches tend to play good players a lot and minor bit role players a little. Fulkerson is better than the other two so he plays more. That's how that works.

Walker- missing defensive assignments, Turned it over a few times, missed some box outs, missed most free throws. He’s probably like Brian Williams and hopefully will be good by his senior year or next year.

As your schedule gets harder....you give more minutes to the guys with the most talent.
1 - Bone
2 - Turner
3 - Admiral
4 - Williams
5 - Alexander

Bowden to relieve 1,2 occasionally 3 if we need more shooting or perimeter D
Fulkerson to 5,4
JJ getting the 2,3 call every once in a while
Walker for defensive matchup at 5 or 4. He’s only coming in if we are getting muscled or foul trouble.

No way we play any more than a 6 to 7 man rotation without a big lead or foul trouble. It’s why Bowden is so valuable. He can play 2,3 and 1,4 in a pinch, allowing him to essentially relieve all 5 starters if we switch Williams to 5 for short periods. I actually really like the Bone, Turner, Bowden, Admiral, Williams set occasionally....impossible to guard, just leaves us a little vulnerable inside....well more vulnerable than with Alexander on the floor.

Not so fast my friend, on the season he's got 5 TO's in 125 mins of PT.... about 4x the rate you quoted.
He said since that day in November, those TOs came in the first few games of the season, 1 since then. Right, TGO?
