Here's how I rank SEC coaches currently, and I stress currently. What say you, VN?

1. Saban
2. Petrino
3. Miles
4. Richt
5. Spurrier
6. Mullen
7. Chizik
8. Dooley
9. Franklin
10. Muschamp
11. Phillips
12. Freeze (unknown commodity at this point, as are Mizzou and A&M at this point)

Are you factoring in recruiting, or are you ranking according to game management, play-calling, etc.?

Phillips did get the better of Dooley with a less talented team. It sucks to admit that but it did happen. Maybe he turns it around this year but he has to be at the very bottom of SEC coaches thus far.

This looks more like mine. I don't really think that Chizik is better than Petrino, but he has a NC so I'm giving him the edge for now. I also think Franklin will fall on his face this year. I would put Missouri HC Pinkel in front of Dooley and possibly Mullen. It is unknown how he will do in sec but he is good coach.

How? With your logic franklin would be below Dooley.

12-14 = no SEC HC experience so not gonna rank them ahead of another coach with experience.

Coach Dooley #1

Rest of SEC Coaches tie #14

Why because he is our coach, And I do not care for or support any of the other coaches because they are not our coach.

If the Vols do not make a major improvement this year in wins and losses, we will have a new coach. But right now I support Coach Dooley 100% and hope the Vols go undefeated next year.

Need at least 8-9 wins this year!

Overall job performance given what they have to work with - for example, roster, school resources, tradition, recruiting base, etc

Then how the hell do you put Franklin over Dooley?

Objectively giving Dooley a low ranking based on current perspective doesn't automatically mean you don't support the guy. I would rank Saban as the #1 coach in the SEC, but it doesn't mean I support the Tide.

This seems about right except I might put Dooley in front of Muschamp but it would not be my much.

I would say everything included due to the fact that ultimately the buck stops with the HC. He is the head and visionary of the program for lack of better terms.
