Where did our down fall begin.

Does anybody really know where our down fall begin. It's like after the 2007 SEC championship game we literally forgot how to play offense. It's like it just happened in the blink of an eye and really so fast that I don't think anybody really know what went wrong.

The downfall began in 2003 when Mike Hamilton took over as AD!

LOL...yeah, we shouldn't blame Fulmer at all. After all, he inherited a team loaded with talent and depth and left one void of both. Yeah, it's Hamilton's fault Fulmer didn't know how to rebuild a team. Yeah, it's Hamilton's fault we didn't have a QB ready in 2000. It's Hamilton's fault we couldn't win big games in Neyland anymore. Yeah, it's Hamilton's fault that in 2002, we got beat 30-13 by Fla in Neylan, 34-14 by Alabama in Neyland, 26-3 by Miami in Neyland and 30-3 by Maryland in the bowl game. It's Hamilton's fault we got beat by Georgia, 41-14 in Neyland in 2003. It's Hamilton's fault we completely imploded in 2005 after a top 5 preseason ranking and a very nationalized proclamation by Fulmer that we were goning to be special. Yeah, it's Hamilton's fault Phillip hired Sanders for OC right after the national championship when he could have had virtually anyone he wanted.

You can argue Hamilton didn't do a good job, or that he wasn't up for the job, either or both.....but the fact is the downfall began before him and lies at the feet of Fulmer.

He took us to the top, with the benefit of good timing of his reign, and then let us fall quickly.

01 Sec CG was when the wheels started falling off, and when Miami came to Neyland with Andre Johnson, Willis Mcgahee, Dorsey and crew and beat the **** out of UT. What year was that? Ultimatley I think Randy Sanders was to blame, but those two games was the beginning signs of downfall.

Cmon we beat Miami the next year.

It all started when John Ward retired. In hindsight I wish we'd never rolled with Kiffin. It was exciting but now in all seriousness can we say we wouldn't be better keeping Phil and playing the HOF coach angle with recruits.

Absolutely agree!!! Tennessee reached the pinnacle of college football in January 1999. John Ward retires and bumbling Bob Kesling is hired as Voice of the Vols. Since then it's been downhill. Kesling has to be held accountable.
