Where did life begin? (Merged)

Do you believe we have a creator, aka "God"?

You said he can do anything. Doesn't make sense that it would take a Devine being 6 days.

Perhaps 6 days to you is instantaneous to an entity such as a god. Maybe time is perceived much differently. Maybe it’s explained as six days because that’s what people can understand.

Or perhaps they had other things to do.

Point is, you’re really, really hung up on this 6 days for no reason. Come up with something else.

Explain your definition of author. I think we'd disagree on that

2 Peter 1:16-21 (KJV)
16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
This is what I believe. :hi:

The other person is making a claim that it took exactly 6 days. I'm hung up on it because it's an insane claim

At this point, after quite some time of not discussing, I'd be interested in your view of the authorship of the Bible.

I believe it was likely devinely inspired but I 100% believe it was corrupted by man. That's why I take what I find useful and disregard what I find no value in.

"Person" is name calling? I'm sorry. How do you indentify?

I should rephrase, you were just calling my doctrine insane, surely you weren't calling me insane for believing it. :eek:k:
I believe the Bible was Divinely inspired and perfectly preserved by the same God that inspired it. It doesn't make any sense for God to give us a book of such importance and not have it preserved for all generations.
Psalm 119:89 (KJV)
89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. :hi:

Which parts are corrupted, and how do you decide which parts to disregard?

(I am elated to have this conversation, as I remember having these discussions with Vol8188, the atheist-on-offensive. Did you inherit this username from the last Dread Pirate Roberts? :))

That is a very good question, what say you VOL8188?

Not two different accounts, just an overview and closer details of the account. surely you have seen this in other writings as well.

In the first story, Creation takes six days and man (and woman) are created last after all the plants and animals are created.

In the second story, Creation takes one day, man is created first, then all the plants and animals are created, and finally woman is created.

That would be the scene in the garden and a little more detail given to the entire situation. There is no contradiction. :hi:

Today I learned that BigO doesn’t know where to find the creation story.

😂

I'm a mysterious man, there are many things unknown about me waiting to be discovered. :) I'm still trying to figure me out!
I would love to hear how you made this great discovery?

Is that what it says, or what you think it says?
