Where did life begin? (Merged)

Do you believe we have a creator, aka "God"?

Science doesn't say "you can't get something from nothing." That's just a colloquialism that people treat as an absolute principle, since we generally have no experience otherwise. But how many people experienced the beginning of the universe (assuming there was one)?

Also, we have only explored a tiny portion of space; we don't know that life is a "vast anamoly."

in standard Newtonian physics conservation of energy amongst others https://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k-12/airplane/thermo1f.html

even in quantum physics this is likely to remain. we just don't understand it how it works.

and to your last paragraph, are you saying that just because we haven't found proof of it yet, it doesn't preclude life from existing outside of our understanding?

The problem is that such logic would also apply to the creator, too. Thus, you're right back where you started.

see my post above this one. because it works both ways.

God/a creator has not been proven to either exist or not exist. just as much as life has not been proven to exist or not.

I believe God will constantly remain beyond the understanding of science. Its what my faith and many religions teach. that makes many people uncomfortable because they can't measure and weigh it. but if it was science, we have to accept that it MIGHT exist or work one day?

you are better than a double standard.

What does science say about the properties of nothing? How do we know nothing can come from it? How do we know it even exists?

The last paragraph was to imply that we havent explored but a tiny portion of space, so why claim that our existence is a vast anamoly?

You said spaghetti monster. I said it's ok with me if THAT is what you believe.

What if the Flying Spaghetti Monster commands me to hang you in the Holy Unbreakable Angelhair Noose? To drown you in the Bapitism of Marinara? To crush you beneath the Meatballs of Atonement? To burn you in the Oven of Reckoning?

Certainly many Muslims would agree with such ideas. Jesus never espoused such things.

Yes, but fundamentalism in any form (Christianity, Islam, Etc) is one of the most dangerous threats to civilization and society currently.

I define with Christian Existentialism personally.

Disagree. I think envy combined with the thirst for power is the most dangerous threat to society. Socialism killed +200 million in the 20th century alone.

Ahhh the ‘Muslim’ card. Oft mentioned by those trying to make their religion seem better. What about the not so long ago wide spread persecution of people because of their color in the south? Since the south is the Bible Belt, and those crimes were committed in the Bible Belt couldn’t you say the exact same thing about Christians?

ahhh, the "Transitive property" card. oft mentioned by those with no real argument in an effort to conflate two things.

We are talking about God/creator and whether he/she/it/Cthulhu exists. a god/God/creator does not depend on religion to exist
